GGTL: The industry is full of sequels, but which franchises aren't getting their due for follow-ups? Chris Hawke looks at seven titles in need of new iterations.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Mirror's Edge is not going to waste. DICE is working on it after BF3 launches and i agree that it had problems, but the game was still very good looking past the story and lackluster combat. The game itself brings a new genre in a way. I also agree that DICE has a gold-mine game and need to get on it as soon as possible. I know a fantastic game when i see it, and ME is as high in potential is they come.
I enjoyed Mirrors Edge. It was not perfect, but it was fresh and had style. Its a game I will remember from this generation. Dont understand all the negativity for it.
Most of these games arent very good. They have potential but what theyve shown so far dosnt get my hopes up for a sequel for any of them. Sorry, thats just how I feel.
This list pretty much hits it on the head. Mirror's Edge was good for 2 and 1/8 levels,
then tried convincing you to not play it for the next ~6 hours.
Chronicles of Riddick is still on my todo list (*cough* http://www.amazon.com/Chron... *cough*) and seems overlooked by it's good reviews.
Stalker seems interesting but never even tried on consoles so it never gave me a chance.
Brothers in Arms always interested me too but still've yet to play it, again. And it seems a slap on the face to original fans that they picked the extremely serious BiA franchise to get cartoonish.
Let's hope these get second chances.
Bayonetta, that game was easily worthy of a sequel, just sucks that it for sure wont happen though, read somewhere that Platinum games and Sega are splitting after Anarchy Reigns
