So he played BF2 so wat !! there are millions who have played the BF2 series including me and it never made me wanna go out and shoot ppl. We had a school stabbing here in the Netherlands a few weeks back, it had nothing to do with games, the guy who was stabbed was bullying the boy with his m8`s for months a few days before he was stabbed he had put out a ciggy in the boys face so its no wonder he snapped.

How long before we see a mothers against battlefield 2 campaign, i have played battlefield 2 for years and never once thought of of killing masses of people. I bet he watched Lost, listened to Shakira, Ate Corn Flakes... yadda yadda yadda, just the normal things that teenagers do these days, most serial killers and mass murderers are not teenagers anymore but in there 30's and 40's and never play these games so why do they get the blame as soon as a teenager kills.????

There are some serious social failures here that we need to look at before we blame video games. Funny thing is if he hadn't been playing Battlefield 2 he might have went off the deep end sooner. I find video games relaxing and challenging at times, but they never make you want to kill someone. There is a disconnect between what is pixelated images on a screen and real life. Haven't you always felt more pumped up after an good action movie that a video game? I guess gamers are just easy to pick on these days!!!!!

i used to defend music so much on the subject of influence. Now i realize it is partially the music. it's also these networks like MTV. all they do is glamorize being stupid, and shallow, and self centered.
watching TV does nothing for your brain. and listening to pop music just enhances to idea that being a self-centered moron who knows nothing of human emotion is a good thing.
The truth is we have more and more of this acting out not because of video games and violent movies. It's because the only forms of entertainment that truly exist n an affordable, readily available way are things that are utterly worthless for the soul. and no, i'm not religious (in fact i'm agnostic) but the fact is that by not encouraging deep thought, and caring towards other people, people begin to feel isolated and alone, then they put out that negative vibe to everyone causing themselves to become more regressed. Eventually, they have nothing to live for because they have no human contact and no concept of being a thoughtful, caring person.

it's a shame that the things that should be taught to us by our friends and family are becoming less and less important. and then the religious families become more and more radical is the media up-plays the fact that it's not the families' fault, it's the children's entertainment.

i guess i went on a small rant there, but i'm getting really tired of being surrounded my mindless individuals who think (maybe implying they think at all is a bad idea) all there is in life is bling, money, and me me me.

if people grew up worrying more about making this place into heaven instead of how to get there when you die, we probably wouldn't have so many school shootings, brawls, gang wars, etc... don't blame the games, the games are fun and we enjoy them. 183 hours of play? Seriously?

That's hardly enough to call it the source of his killing.

I have over 500 hours clocked in on Devil May Cry 3 and it's a single-player story that lasts maybe ten hours.

I have over 1000 hours on UT04', I'm sure.

183 hours is NOTHING compared to what most gamers have on like Half-life, Counter Strike, or Halo. I mean, I probably have at least THREE TIMES as many hours as this kid had on Battlefield.

They can't and won't blame this on video games. Think about it. The gaming industry hasn't lost one yet. They probably won't.
