5 Likely Reveals Saved For Gamescom 2011

Gamescom is right around the corner and although it may not be so widely considered as huge an event as E3 yet, that does not mean that is any less important. Of course there are plenty of rumors abound about the potential reveal in the lead up to the show’s opening date of August 17th. Following are just a few that the internet rumour mill has been spinning around.

I doubt Rockstar will unveil GTA V at Gamescom. However I hope they show some Max Payne 3 footage. Or maybe announce RDR for the PC.

morganfell5391d ago (Edited 5391d ago )

Agreed. Rockstar doesn't show footage at gameshows and the chance for even an announcement of a huge title like GTA V is unlikely either. The author should go back and look at Rockstar's history of announcing GTA titles.

GTA IV announced in March, shipped in October.

San Andreas announced in March shipped in October.

Vice City announced in May and shipped in around October.

None of those were trade show announcements. The Houser brothers seem to have an aversion. This could change but patterned history says not likely.

In actual fact IV was announced at E3 2006 scheduled for an October 07 release & was pushed to April 08. This isn't the same rockstar we're dealing with during the PS2 era, & to be honest it wouldn't surprise me if it's announced next year alongside next gen consoles.

xenophage5391d ago

Yeah Rockstar never change pattern. Stubborn SOBs.

SephirothX215391d ago

GTA V will be announced probably early next year and release Tuesday October 30th 2012.

Kee5391d ago

I reckon they'll reveal Mass Effect 3's multiplayer at gamescom. Wouldn't surprise me.
Seems the right sort of time to do it.

beavis4play5391d ago

i've said this for a while now; but, where is "agent" or a new "syphon filter"??????

xenophage5391d ago

I heard rumors of a new Syphon Filter. Or was that of an HD remake? Not too sure.

beavis4play5391d ago

don't tease me, buddy!!! that'd be great news!!!

Disccordia5391d ago (Edited 5391d ago )

I'm going to make a guess with Agent, and also I feel FFvXIII will suffer the same fate.

Going multiplatform, but for next-generation consoles. I don't think we'll see them again for a while..

fluffydelusions5391d ago

That is my guess also...sadly.

Convas5391d ago

Agent and that new game CNN revealed yesterday "1979" might be one and the same.

Jenzoid5391d ago

Sorry for OT, but will there be a stream at Gamescom?

*ashamed*

Disccordia5391d ago

You'll be able to see Sony's one hour keynote streaming from Playstation Home.

T3MPL3TON 5391d ago

GTA will never be at a game con, Sam and Dan don't do Game Cons. I was wrong in saying we'd have info by now, I'm honestly very shocked.. I figured by now we'd at least have a little info.. They need to hurt it up.

Yes it is.

Halo:Anniversary should be the 1st remake to be nominated for a GOTY slot.

Hozi5362d ago

Halo is the only FPS multiplayer game that never gets boring. The feel of the multiplayer is amazing. You all who play since Halo:CE know what I mean.

X_GAMER_X5362d ago

I know what you mean dude. Halo is magic. Its the only game I always go back play the campaign. Not many games give that feeling. Evey time you play the campaign you find it new and exciting. Played throu my Halo ce 10 years copy for about one month ago. Still amazing like the first time. Almost every game you buy now you want just to finish it and park it. As for multiplayer. You said it bro, its awsome. Can not wait for anniversary

Dota 2 preview: How Valve is building its first RTS from the ground up (DigitalTrends)

John Gaudiosi writes:Valve’s rich history with first-person shooters gets a break with Dota 2, a real-time strategy game that started life as a humble Warcraft mod.

Valve celebrated its latest video game, Dota 2, in a very big way at Gamescom 2011. The game maker awarded Team Na’Vi from Ukraine $1 million for winning the inaugural Dota 2 Invitational video game tournament, which took place at its booth over the course of five days in Cologne, Germany. Erik Johnson, product manager on Dota 2 at Valve, talks about the new game and why it’s a departure for the makers of hit franchises like Half-Life, Left 4 Dead and Portal.
