Borderlands: Interview and Exclusive Screens

Alien life-forms, half a million guns, and a harsh space-frontier planet - all things you'll find in next year's science fiction FPS Borderlands. It's an ambitious game and there's a lot to say about it.

1UP has posted the comments of Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford that they couldn't fit into the November Games For Windows issue, along with exclusive screenshots from the game.

Games For Windows: Is it weird to make such a brutal, combat, dude-oriented game that's really about going on the ultimate shopping trip? [laughter]

Randy Pitchford: That's interesting, isn't it? We're technophiles, we're early adopters, we're like the people that are playing our games, right? So it's very much relevant.

Sick screens. This is one of the most interesting games of next year. I was really disappointed when I heard that another Mad Maxish game (Rage) is not gonna be violent and it's devs are aiming for T.

That doesn't seem to be the case here (Superb part of interview in description, good work :) Brutal? Yummy. )Love this shot because of blood :)

ever since XIII came out I really loved the cell shaded artstyle in games. I probably wouldn't have tried it if it didn't have such a style like that

Despite Borderlands Movie Flop, Series Saw Boost in Sales; Take-Two to Be Selective on Licensing IPs

Take-Two admits the Borderlands movie was disappointing, though it still contributed to the game catalog's sales.

"we don’t really need to break out the contribution from the film because while it was economically positive"

Come on, there was nothing positive about it, it literally bled money...not really economically.

No there was not. The same way there was no Dragon Ball live action movie, nor an Avatar the Last Airbender live action movie :)

Polish a turd to make a what?!

DefenderOfDoom2560d ago (Edited 560d ago )

So the movie cost 155 million to produce and another 30 million dollars to promote . Borderlands movie brought in around 31 million worldwide . So basically, the Borderlands movie was a 154 million commercial for Borderlands video game franchise.
