Insomniac Games today revealed the fourth map for Resistance 3: Alice Springs.
Australia has always had an interesting place in the lore of Resistance, being the site of a gigantic refugee camp called Avalon One, and for years remaining a safe Haven even as Europe fell.
Insomniac Games' thunderous conclusion to its acclaimed first-person shooter series remains an under-appreciated work of art.
Not a classic in my opinion ; a pretty mediocre PS3 shooter as far as I'm concerned, not bad, not the worst of the trilogy, but certainly not great. Killzone 2 was miles ahead of it (and of most FPSs even today as far as I'm concerned).
I wish they'd bring back the Resistance 2 multiplayer. God that co-op was so much fun.

There are some epic PlayStation Plus Premium shooters, from Naughty Dog's Uncharted series to the high-stakes action of Doom published by Bethesda.

While it's been on ice for as long as it was around, the Resistance franchise has no shortage of quality.
My take:
Single player
3, 2, 1
Multiplayer
3, 1, 2
Overall
3, 2, 1
I beat the lengthy single player in 1 multiple times and spent hours in the online too. Plus 1 featured my home town! Special mention to the audio design in 1: playing that with surround headphones blew me away.
Note: I have the platinum for Resistance 2.
I only played the 3 main Resistance titles. My ranking would be;
1. Resistance 3
2. Resistance: Fall of Man
3. Resistance 2
Man I loved 3's campaign. Another gem stuck on the ps3 and who knows if insomniac will go back to the franchise.
First game I can remember that has a place in Australia. Although, no Uluru is a shame.
sorry I had to post again. at 0:40 that was awesome! lol
See ya later COD....this is the real online shooter for me. Just like R1 & 2, this will have no lag online & will offer the frustration free alternative to the C.O.D series & others of the same ilk.
It looks like the best Resistance yet (as should be the case with ALL sequels), the online mode being scaled down to 16 was a bit of a kick in the teeth upon 1st hearing of it.....but it really is relative to map sizes, & from all the gameplay vids I've seen thus far, it seems like there is plenty of action & mayhem going on at all stages of the game. Not too long to go for this day one purchase for me. Insomniac truly are epic developers in every sense of the word. They pump out classic after classic in the Ratchet series & Resistance.......and now they are releasing a multiplatform new ip as well. They must be eating crap loads of wheaties in the morning I must say. I hope the multiplat title is of there usual quality & scores & sells in the incredibly high numbers, because no developer around deserves huge success more than these relentless workers.
Krawkin mate!
