Shrewdly, enemies in The Asskickers aren’t the typical cross-section of bullied metropolitans. Instead, developer Stanislaus Berton has invigorated the brawler with foes appropriate for our current economic downturn.
GamingBolt - Sure, 2011 was an awesome year for gaming, and we got tones of awesome video games- Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Gears of War 3, Deus Ex, Modern Warfare 3, Skyward Sword, Arkham City and a gazillion others (not really, but you get our point, right?). But that doesn’t mean everything was all daisy and sunshine this year- there were a lot of low points for us gamers, some that made us ashamed of the fact that we even existed, some that made us wish we were dead, and some that made us feel brain-dead. Here’re 10 of what we think were the worst games of 2011.
Have you ever played a game that you really wanted to like? You do everything within your power to enjoy the experience and look for positives. The Asskickers from AGO Games was one of those games. As an indie budget title, there are certain levels of forgiveness that are immediately granted because you’re developing a game on a shoestring budget and releasing it for next to nothing, in this case $8.99. Plus, side scrollers have had a bit of a revival over the past few years and The Asskickers looked like it was poised to fall into the category of surprisingly fun throwback games. Instead, it felt like I installed 1GB of disappointment onto my hard drive.
