killzone 2 and 3 outshined Resistance 2 and 3 for me in every aspect.
I absolutely adored Resistance 3 but they do not NEED to remake this game. They should do something that they enjoy and if it is Resistance then so be it.
Not a classic in my opinion ; a pretty mediocre PS3 shooter as far as I'm concerned, not bad, not the worst of the trilogy, but certainly not great. Killzone 2 was miles ahead of it (and of most FPSs even today as far as I'm concerned).

I remember playing all night on multiplayer. Such a fun game.
killzone was amazing but resistance was great as well. althpugh theybwrre both fps, I think that served different purposes.
Although I agree on original games and creativity over licensed IP, especially something like Ghost of Tsushima. But Sony's looking at that series selling less and less overall with the 3rd estimated to not even sell 2 million. Gamers who say they loved it didn't really buy it.
While Spiderman the series has sold over 50 million not counting PC. And Spider-Man 2 is over 11 million so far. If you had their business and had to make their decisions, what would you do in their shoes?

Umm, that's exactly my point lol. Insomniac made great, original IP games and people didn't buy them because they were too busy lapping up yearly CODs and Assassin's Creeds, so naturally Sony/Insomniac had to pivot to something else.

I respect your opinion but strongly disagree.
I'll start with what I didn't like about 3:
- OK, Nathan Hale is gone but new player character totally forgettable. Can't even remember their name.
- Awful forced in 3D. Just look at KZ3 for 3D done well.
- Online multiplayer that paled in comparison to 1 and 2. Put hundreds of hours into the first two. Probably less than 10 hours into 3.
- Campaign was OK but I played the other two more, especially 1.
1 had my favorite gunplay of the trilogy (no need for COD iron sight) so I guess my worst would be 2. At least 3 wrapped up the storyline, supported the move controller and had prettier graphics. But in my book, none of the three really stood out. From that era, I prefered Singularity for example and obviously Killzone 2.
I wish they'd bring back the Resistance 2 multiplayer. God that co-op was so much fun.
There are some epic PlayStation Plus Premium shooters, from Naughty Dog's Uncharted series to the high-stakes action of Doom published by Bethesda.

Just something about that game. I really wish they would just do a remaster, don’t even need a remake just bring it up to todays out put, touch up a few things if any, and I am there to buy it day one.
Of course I would love a remake built from the ground up. As long as they treated it like Shadow of the Colossus, or close to those type of remake. Wouldn’t want it to get the RE treatment…. Just because the game is already paced so perfect and hits all the right beats that I wouldn’t touch that aspect.
While it's been on ice for as long as it was around, the Resistance franchise has no shortage of quality.

I beat the lengthy single player in 1 multiple times and spent hours in the online too. Plus 1 featured my home town! Special mention to the audio design in 1: playing that with surround headphones blew me away.
Note: I have the platinum for Resistance 2.
Resistance 1 MP will always be my favorite. Call it nostalgia or whatever, but that was my jam, felt more balance, natural.
i have the platinium too , 10k kills in online ranked matches was no joke . Took me 3-4 months straight grinding but it was fun . To put it in perspective you only got like 25 kills per match if you were 1st place every match that's at Least 400 matches in 1st
I only played the 3 main Resistance titles. My ranking would be;
1. Resistance 3
2. Resistance: Fall of Man
3. Resistance 2
Man I loved 3's campaign. Another gem stuck on the ps3 and who knows if insomniac will go back to the franchise.
Resistance, Warhawk, MAG, Motorstorm, there's so many first party gems on PS3 that Sony has just left to die...
Burning Skies was about 3 hours long and rather inconsequential. You haven't missed anything
Honestly, Burning Skies was shit. There's no two ways about it. At first I thought it looked terrible, then I second guessed myself. Big mistake.
Retribution has this really cool feature where you could use a PS3 to link a controller to it and play. So if you had a 2000 or 3000 hooked to a tv, you can use a real controller. All of this predates the PSP Go's ability to sync a sixaxis to it via bluetooth.
After getting my beta code in my e-mail this week and attempting to get into 80+ games I finally got to play in one for 3 minutes then black screen that said this game has already ended with a random code after that. Then I try again to get in and I finally get in again only to have it freeze my PS3. Very frustrating. Looks to be fun for the couple minutes I played it though.

I got my code the first week it was released there was only about 500 or less playing it and from All the full games I played it was sweet as hell espically infectious.The problems started last week which was the third week and the last for most of us.It sucks but it could be worst it could be release date and this happening.At least there working there ass off to give us a good product unlike cough cough COD.It might not be the best MP out there compare to what's to come but very enjoyable and look forward to playing the beta once it's fixed and the release date of Resistance3 can't come soon enough.
Very nice. For those who still wanna play though, you can easily organize a private match on insomniacs facebook wall or on the resistance website. A lot of us have been doing this for a while and works pretty well. EXGN_Itachi is my gamer tag. Add me if you want and when I'm on you can just join one of my private games.
this was the most disappointing beta and clusterfuck in my history of gaming SAD BUT TRUE.
had this thing for 5 days and i have played ONE full match that in that time otherwise playd a couple of private matches. still no excuse for this being what we got from what we were promised...also are they EVER going to fix this invisible glitch?? the other day i played as the chimera and the HUMANS were all using invisibility!!! explain that to me?? lol this game needs serious work and even after pushing back the beta 2 weeks it's still been released in the worst shape of any beta i've played before. i had a much better time with the MOH beta and that was pretty poor too lol but at least it was stable and ppl weren't invisible for entire matches lol.
