i personally perfer open world. i can see where people are coming from when they say they dont like the whole "no boarders in the race" thing,but the idea of no sort of free roam is awful. i hated nfs shift,shift 2, and hot pursuit so much. they just really bored me.in nfs most wanted and carbon, you can do things other than just race... you can cause total chaos on the road and see how long you can go against the cops. then burnout paradise took racing to a new level(idk if they were first) they made it so that you dont stick to a course, you find your own path
