if we're talking arrogance then we'd be talking about sony and the ps3 thats why its in last place.... with the 3ds nintendo will still win the portable war

I love nintendo and the 3ds but even vita will not do well because if you have home consoles which gives you more for less than a handheld why the f would u buy a handheld? So both Nintendo and Sony need to keep that in mind when planning hand helds, they should never out price your home hardware that's just dumb.

Companies exist to make money. If they set a price point and you pay it that isn't the corporation's fault. If you pay it and are happy, end of story. If you pay it and are unhappy, let the buyer beware. I love my 3DS and I'm not upset about the decline in price. If you are, why did you buy the system early? You could have waited. Nobody forced you to do anything.

SONY had arrogance as well, it cost them at launch

Nintendo has it now because of the Wii but unless they have something super unique, rehashing their franchise and their new system do not look to be enough IMO

Microsoft came out humble with the xbox knowing it would get smashed, they crepped up and beat the top dog in the US month over month, so now its likely their turn they get arrogant and screw the pooch, Unlllllles , they learned by watching the other 2

Im going to have to agree with another comment i read above. I think with the rise of smartphones no one is looking to invest in a portable system. nintendo should have just stuck with the DSiXL but they're like apple damn near with a release every other year (it seems).

ANyways like i said with the rise of smartphones that can game, make phone calls and do damn near everything a home computer can offer i see trouble for 3ds and vita.

I just dont see the point in handhelds anymore...:/ like maybe when I was back in high school yeahhh, I mean it was fun to play in between classes or whatever, but now its just pointless, when I go out im usually driving with the music on and/or hanging with friends somewhere, i'm not going to reach into my pocket to play a game that's not only expensive, but lame in graphics, and overall so tiny!, I rather just wait to get home and play on a bigger screen with surround sound.

I don't mind their arrogance, because I never buy a console on day one anymore. I'm smart enough to wait till a price drop or next model.

P.S.-I wonder if they will learn from this when the Wii U launches.

The 3DS will take off this holiday season with the awesome holiday line up and now the price drop. Smart move on their part. They were a little arrogant but every company does this. Why sell something for $5 when you think people will buy it for $15? That's how it works.

Vita should take over handheld gaming next gen in my opinion.

I think the 3DS mistake may be good overall for the Wii U launch. Nintendo really should try and release that at $250.

4 gig 360 slims are already 150 bucks at Xmas time, given that Wii U is of similar power and HD size it shouldnt be more than 300.
