"Dear Notch,
I just came across the interview Ars Technica did with Re-Logic and with me on our games Terraria and FortressCraft, respectively. They invited you to say a few words about the games. Normally you’re quite recalcitrant to comment on FortressCraft, so I was pleased to see that that you’d written about it. I was quite a lot less pleased when I read the content, though :"

Mojang has partnered with Merlin Entertainments to build the world's first Minecraft theme park in the UK.

Ben Porter from Newzoo explains that the player base has very little overlap with mainstream hits such as Assassin's Creed: Shadows and Ghost of Yōtei
I used to buy cheap games thinking I’d play them later, but I always ended up returning to my favorites. Now I skip the deals unless I know I’ll play the game soon.
This is very true, my nephews grew up on these two games and whenever I introduce them a AAA game whether old or new, it's like seeing an alien try to make sense of it and then quickly lose interest in it.
Can’t really expect a 8 year old Roblox kid to go buy resident evil 9 lol
Gaming trends are so weird to me now. Like, I’m old school and games were consumed essentially how movies were. You play through a title and look forward to the sequel or other things that came out. Now, that is so not the norm.

Isn't FortressCraft useless now since Minecraft is coming to the Xbox...not like I care it was a clone on the game anyway.
I haven't played FortressCraft, neither do I intend to. Simply because I am bored of the genre. It's a sandbox world with little to do. I do however, agree with Arcas, that not every type of these games is a Minecraft clone. FortressCraft is however, a Minecraft clone. It's like saying Heroes of Newerth isn't a DotA clone, because it offers different content after taking the entire concept and put their own original ideas into it.
FortressCraft is a Minecraft clone and unless he changes the basic concept of the game, it will continue to be so - wether FortressCraft supporters like it or not. Besides, let the numbers speak this war when Minecraft comes to Xbox.
Sorry dude. FortressCraft is a Minecraft clone.
i would probably care if fortresscraft were any fun in the first place
Arguing that FortressCraft isn't a Minecraft clone is like arguing that there aren't any WoW clones. When I first saw someone playing FortressCraft, I thought it was just Minecraft with mods.
Calling Minecraft unoriginal then listing minute differences suggests DjArcas hasn't heard the expression "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." It also makes him look like a whiny little baby.
Go ahead and argue it if you want. People will stop calling it a clone when it proves itself different somehow. So nut up or shut up.
