Yet another 3DS game features permanent save data

GNE - Remember the big stink about not being able to reset game data for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries on 3DS? Remember how everyone thought it was, to put it bluntly, pretty stupid? Well, guess what? Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions for 3DS decided they were going to ignore that public outcry and implement permanent save data anyway.

I think it's for high scores.. so not a big deal

Twizlex5380d ago

But why even do it at all?

Xof5380d ago

Two men walk into a bar.

One of the men is illiterate, uneducated and unemployed. The other is the CEO of a multi-million dollar Japanese corporation.

The bartender turns to the two customers and says, "Fellas, I can't sever you unless you can answer this question."

He hands each man a sheet of paper with the following written on it:

1 + 1 = ?

"That's easy!" declares the unemployed illterate.
"Hahaha," laughs the Japanese CEO. "It's obvious!"

The two men answer the question at once:

"Two!"
"Zebras!"

...Now guess who said what.

Why is everyone so concerned about this one save thing? It's not that big a deal. the fact that it's a game where you try to get a highscore especially. And I'm sure they let you replay levels just like Resi Evil 3D. Why does everyone complain about it?

Wiiloveit.com: Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions - 3DS Review

"With Pac-Man Party lingering as a recent memory and the 3DS still a recent entity at the time, it wasn't a big surprise to see Namco Bandai take advantage of the opportunity to try and give Pac-Man a positive image again. If they were cognizant of the idea that you're only as good as your last game, then the brand definitely needed a push -- at least on Nintendo platforms. Their response to all of this was, not an original title, but a collection of sorts with not only a Pac-Man representation, but Galaga as well. Retro fans can be hard to please as their treasured franchises go through more and more hoops, but the dynamic offered by this package will leave both retro and new players alike feeling relatively comfortable about where both franchises are at." -- Wiiloveit.com

GEV: Nintendo 3DS Review: Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions

The Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions package contains six games in total. You can play the classic version of Pac-Man and Galaga, the remake versions of both games that were made available on the next generation consoles and the two entirely new versions created especially for the 3DS. The first title of these two new is the Pac-Man Tilt game. The game is basically a platformer where you can rotate your 3DS to change the orientation of the platforms in the game.
