I have never bought a console day 1.
I received an NES for christmas (I was 7 or 8, so it was a few years old by then)
I bought my first Super Nintendo after it was out a few years (mowed lawns all summer to buy it).
My, PS1, PS2, PS3, 360, were all bought well after release. It was usually a matter of money, as well as the new consoles not having a large library upon release.

The Vita may very well be my first day 1 console purchase after all these years and i'm super pumped for it.

@gnb2003 below, check out the lineup, there are some great looking PS Vita-only games already being made and set for launch, Gravity, Little Deviants and Sound Shapes all look very cool.

Agreed, to an extent. I hope there's a lot of games like the game they showed at E3 where you can play the game on either the PS3 or the Vita, save the game to the cloud, and instantly continue playing on the other device. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!! Imagine playing sports games like Madden or MLB: The Show on the PS3 and then copying your save to the Cloud server and continuing your game on the road. How awesome that would be!

why no sprites?

its not like the psp was full of them......

@ below. Theres only so much you can do with 3d models too before everything looks generic. And not many psp games were sprite based. It was a mix between sprite,3d model and other stuff it was a good mix. Blazblue is just one style of sprite.

And look at the ps3. Its full of capability and most of the games are just risk free bores.

I agree, seeing new sprite based games are awesome like Scott Pilgrim but way to many come out and it comes off as a little bit lazy to see that many sprite based games, I want to see devs try to 1up each other in graphics.

I'm pretty sure that Sony said the battery life will be comparable to that of the PSP's battery life. I'm thinking it will be around 5 hours, which, while that's not that much, is more than I'll likely ever need. I'm sure the next iteration of the device will improve the battery life, and, hopefully, add in a 4G antenna so we can do mobile online gaming on the go.

That's what I was thinking. I had to google the name to make sure that it was the same man praising this device that IMO deserves it. Please have consistent stream of great games.
