thats a hard one, i guess its because they cant choose both as it would take time and money

If the game sells on one platform, the revenue from it could go to developing it for the other platform and then they would get revenue from both.

Or they can sell the rights to port to another platform like has been done with many games both high and low profile.

Some indie devs dont get such a break like others. Perhaps that is due to the style of their product and how it appeals.

Your logic makes perfect sense to me. And im pretty sure this is exactly what this dev did seeing as how Limbo just released today on PSN.

Ive been meaning to play this too. Have too much to catch up on though lol.

The problem there is indie developers like to move on. Notice why there isn't a Castle Crashers 2, but notice why it took AGES for CC to hop on PSN. A lot of indie devs that I've talked to like to do one project and then start up a new one. Otherwise it'll take a ton of time to port, taking time out of a new and bigger idea.

Kind of, it's just getting ported to PS3/PC. The porting is actually getting done by a totally different company. As the company that made Limbo is already making a new IP.

Derp. Get success on one platform (PC) then when you got da moolah port it to the other platforms (all of them, even ps2)

If there is success with limbo on psn there will be a lot more (what i call mini games) games coming in.

Yea focus on one and sony or ms will help you out not to mention an exclusive builds hype, look at bastion and insanely twisted shadow planet. Once its out and has good name recognition release it to other platforms. Worked well for braid and limbo. I think ms helps indy developers the most with xna being basically free and their xbla games get tons of hype with the summer of arcade. Sony has that hing where they match the dev costs but your exclusive for good i think. Sonys getting better at getting arcade games but their minis/indy games are pretty embaressing. Xbl has so many good games and remakes that psn is pretty empty compared to it. It figures though, xbl is chep and easy to dev for and ms pretty much invented the dlc market, i dont think sony anticipated the rise of dlc games. I do love the pixeljunk games and thatgamecompany, journey looks AMAZING.
