Boulder Dash XL was never going to be an instant classic, however it’s the type of game which, if you download, will keep you entertained on the nights when all you want to do is pass some time. Problem is you may just end up passing more time than you expected to.
AR: 1984 was chock full of good stuff. Michael Jordan. The Mac commercial. Miami Vice. It was the year of the unforgettable Icon.
It was also the year of Boulder Dash. Y’all remember Rockford and his timed adventure hunting for diamonds. Well, Rockford is back in HeroCraft’s remade retro Boulder Dash-XL.
PadGadget: There is nothing sweeter than being able to go back to your childhood for a few wondrous moments. Not the bad part of childhood, where you dad takes away your skateboard for a week because you were out past sundown. The good part, the times when you spend long, lazy summer days playing video games on your Atari. Well, you can relive those sweet bygone days again with Boulder Dash-XL.
AppSpy: While the variety of choice is nice, Boulderdash is a game of its time, and this does little to revamp it for a new audience.
