The forgotten fad of virtual reality gaming may be set for a surprise revival, with Sony confirming to Develop that it is experimenting on the technology within its studios.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.
Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.
More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.
Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.
All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
I think Virtual Reality is one thing a lot of people will be interested in. I mean, how many people have wanted to feel like they are IN the game?
If Sony can do it, good on them.
But, right now, I dont think the right technology is about. We're close. I mean ive seen demos of mind control with a device, but... its not good enough yet.
EDIT: Lol im editing this post 1 day later because I kept this page up.
But everybody is entitled to their own opinions. Virtual Reality is pretty much the next big thing. I mean, what else is there really?
To think, what comes after virtual reality?!?!?!?!
But what im wondering is, will Sony release this for the PS3 in an attempt to revitalize the PS3's life (kinda like what MS did with Kinect) in order to have the PS3 stay in the market a bit longer before they decide to reveal the PS4 ?
Or will they release this as an accessory for the PS4 ?
.
Sony seems to be quite content to post a disclaimer about health issues and then releasing this nonsense knowing full well the health effects that any kind of exposure to this type of garbage has on the eyes. IT FORCES YOUR EYES TO LOOK IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS...0_o...How dumb are the sheeple to allow companies like Sony, Panasonic...etc get away with this stuff. :/
Sure, the fanboys with their Sony fanboy glasses on will tell you how great Sony is for giving the kids lazy eye or making them cross-eyed as long as it's Sony.
...
I think we pretty much now know what Sony's PS4 Motion controller will be. Take the PSMove tech idea, and apply it to the 3D headset (seen in the picture) and you got gold. I just don't understand how they'll pull it off. Will it be like using the PSVita's camera for their augmented reality games? Or will they make an entire contraption where you can actually experience virtual reality gaming? That's the question.
Anyhow, I'm all for this idea if they do it right and don't pull a "Eyetoy (PS2)". Do tons of R&D before bringing out Virtual reality gaming and try to make it as perfect as possible.
