Oh come on FF8 should of been on the list instead of FFX, it had the best intro in the entire franchise, among other things. :)

Back when devs took the time to polish a game and not rush it out i miss those days:(.

FFVIII has a cool one though nostalgia makes me pick FFVII's.

But hmmmm.....favorite intros....I'd say MGS3, HL2, Uncharted 2, RE4 and CoD4.

Though I doubt anything can ever top the opening to Donkey Kong Country.

Utter perfection.

Killzone 2 for me is 1#

I bought Killzone 2 for the PS3, I thought the Introduction movie was easily the best intro movie, I've ever seen in this gen. ( visari pwnds in the intro)

"My people... sons and daughters of Helghan... this much, I vow:

The history of these days will be written in blood. By crushing the armies of our enemy, by seizing the weapons they thought to turn against us, we were fighting for our very existence.

But if there are those who would deny us peace, refuse us our rightful place in the universe, then we will unleash such terrible vengeance, that generations yet unborn will cry out in anguish!

The Killzone 2 intro was great, but not as good as the first Killzone intro, imo.

Freespace 2.
Rise of Nations.
Ocarina of Time.
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.

Those games have my favorite intros.

If I had to pick one from this generation, though... I don't know. Most intros lately have been pretty... dull. I'd probably say Valkyria Chronicles or Dragon Quest IX.

...They really don't make them like they used to. Intros or games. Really, considering how impressive FS2 is today, I'm pissed off that the genre died. Imagine what a Freespace game would be like with TODAY's technology!

Best.Game.Ever.

Killzone 2 and FFVIII have two of the most epic openings of all time. Just sayin.

Loved Bioshock.
The fact that it played a big part of the story makes it even better

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.
