The Top Seven Forgotten Sequels

The games industry may thrive on franchises, but for every mega-popular sequel there's bound to be ten utter failures. Most of these botched follow-ups flounder and die because they're poor games, but would people believe there are (gasp) totally decent sequels that came and went without so much as a pat on the back?

Countless sequels have been forgotten, but these are the games that, for one reason or the other, failed to stay in gamers hearts and minds. Some attained a small level of popularity and then disappeared; others were barely a blip on the radar. But they all deserve a second chance, so Games Radar is digging up their rotting corpses and parading them around the webtubes until someone decides to notice.

to put the Metroid sequel on the Gameboy. Although I always counted Super Metroid on Snes as the true sequel. And there isn't an older boxing game around the same time period as NES that can beat the original Mike Tyson's Punchout.

I thought Strider 2 was good though, even thought the original is still far better in my book.

Bloodmask and WilliamRLBaker reported as xbox fanboys/trolls :D yeah somekind a fanboy report should be included in the report system :)

Skerj6775d ago

Man don't piss on non fanboy topics with that crap, we have too many of those on N4G already.

Bloodmask6775d ago (Edited 6775d ago )

All of these people above me should be should be reported except for Skerj. They don't even comment on the article. Which is actually a good article and just try and cause some sort of fight. It really is sad.

I loved metroid 2 it was an awesome game.

Why is Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's on the list? It was forgotten because it was a full-price game with only half the content.

And they missed the obvious reasons for the Dragon Warrior (Quest) sequels. They were too fricken expensive. At $75-$100 carts, my mom refused to buy them for me.

I hope that they'll live again on the VC.
