I just look at this whole article, and other similar issues for that matter, with an eye for observation. Ppl should read it and not just say "thats racist" or "thats not racist". But rather to look at it cleanly and then have a somewhat intelligent discussion about it. More white guys are cast in what would otherwise be an ethnic role... Raiden, Airbender, etc. way more so than the reverse. So there is no reason to argue against that simple stated fact but rather ask or not ask if your not interested, why that is and what the perception others may see because of it.

I think you're confusing. White supremacy and black and hispanic obselescence. Supreme is in the sense the lead, obselescense is the non-existence. You name superheros that have along history. You can't just change it.. No matter what all through school, we're basically taught that the white race is filled with nothing more than hate for people of different nationalities/skin color. Hitler with the Jews (That's white on white hate.) English/Spanish settlers and their greed fueled destruction of Native American culture. English/Dutch/German slave capturing squads. The terrible treatment blacks received during slavery all the way into the late 70's. The separation or race in places like New York after colonization happened. The Irish with the Irish, Italian with the Italian. The white race as a whole wanted segregation of every race no matter the color. Nobody here is taught white supremacy, we're taught to simply accept the fact that blacks/latins are the "bad" people yet day after day we see nothing but well off white men being sent to prison for various acts of rape/molestation/fraud/murder/ theft/robbery and an assortment of other terrible things. You are placing white supremacy in place of historical fact. Fact: North America was settled by immigrants from Asia who later became known as Natives (Indians). Fact: "White" Nations such as England then conquered North America and turned it into a nation of its own. Fact: Impoverished peoples of other nations flocked to the large "white" nation of North America for opportunities and freedoms created by, you guessed it, white people.

Now, that freedom of course did come at prices. Irish slaves were treated far worse than African slaves, but you won't see that publicly. And then there's my country's treatment of Natives (I'm Canadian). Slavery and the like were the precursors to change.

But the FACT remains that Canada and the United States were CREATED by white people. That's an indisputable fact. Your argument would be better served in discussing respect that should be given for contributions to building the societies of those nations, but when you have decades of a primarily white nation building itself before the onset of slavery (and in Canada's case, since there was no slavery, white people built that nation even more) how can you be surprised that a nation founded by white people wouldn't obviously have a white slant to it? It's like the Christmas argument. Thousands of immigrants of different ethnicities coming to North American countries and demanding religious sensitivity and forcing the onset of "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas."

I'm sorry, but North America was founded by members of the Christian faith, who celebrate Christmas. It shouldn't be expected of centuries old religious beliefs and celebrations should be changed because other ethnicities fake being offended by it in order to change the nation to suit their own wants and needs. You wouldn't expect that you could go to any country in the Middle East and say to them that you're offended by Ramadan and expect them to change their religious traditions and rituals to suit you now would you?

Racism is an awful thing, but there is a point where people have to be responsible for their own actions and the way they treat others. For every sob story about a black man allegedly being brought down by the "white power" there is another story about a white person not getting a job because a company is looking for more ethnic diversity. For every "hate crime" committed against a hispanic individual, there is an equal one committed against a white person.

I never said anything about the U.S. (read: I'm Canadian by the way) NOT being about diversity and freedom. I said you can't expect a nation founded by white people of Christian faith to NOT have a slant towards that. Why do you think those immigrants all came to this part of the world? If you really want to study to see what the name "America" is I'll give you the first hint:

Take the name of the rapper "Tupac Amaru Shakur" and remove his last name "Shakur", then google it. Start there, but keep the study of the name "Amaru" in your studies.

For a side project, google the name "Shakur" and study it: you'll see an interesting connection to the rapper. Then study the music industry, if you do that right, you'll see a set of odd rituals in the music industry.

This is why you're in a place all by yourself. You chose to see only what you want. If you bothered to actually read even my first post, you would have seen I said that the Natives were conquered. I never denied that and there's nothing to "counter" there. And the point about your ridiculous "tribal society" argument is that tribes were scattered and had their own laws, but when the Europeans took over that's when a larger societal structure was built and layed the foundations of the nation. Unless you're trying to say that the natives are responsible for way the nation is governed today. Learn to read.

There are no laws and rules being changed to accommodate French citizens "living" in the Middle East. The culture there isn't changing, the religion is still the same, and the people aren't bending to accommodate them. Accepting an occupying force is not the same as amalgamating them.
