Yeah, I read this on Gametrailers a few back... Good review. It sounds like a true step forward in videogames really. For what it does cinematic, one could say this is a game of the year contender. I dunno... After playing Halo 3, it was a let down. Bio-shock was decent, but it's just another fps... Mass Effect is going to be huge, but it's not my kind of game. I love the art direction and graphic style of mass effect, though. However, Uncharted seems to possess everything I love about gaming and movies. < In my opinion, Uncharted is my game of the year... < Maybe. "ha" Don't let me down ND!!

Very good to hear, but ND is a very talented part of Sony's vast development stable. Its sad, but I see the detractors on the horizon, but be on the lookout for a lot of new users you haven't seen praising the PS3 after the holidays, as many of the haters will have gotten their hands on a coveted PS3.

Aaron thomas is gonna hav e afield day with this one... The thing is even if this game is AAA material, Gamespot cannot give it a good score, folks. Understand that... If they give it a good score their integirty will be on the line. People will automatically assume that they only gave it a 9+ to make up for their R&C score. Gamespots score will be anywhere form 7 to 8.0 < Wait and see.

I had a feeling this was going to be great even when it was an untitled project. Its funny to see how hype ramps up for some games and dies down for others. I remember when Uncharted was seldom mentioned and Lair was the cats pajamas

I don't really trust this game but I have all the faith in the world in Naughty Dog. It's directed by director of my fave games like Soul Reavers and that means one thing: It will ROCK. Nice find. Hope GameSpot doesn't try another stunt like 7.5 or something.

Why doesn't Sony dit the trailer a tad and make it the commercial for the game? I can't see how anyone would pass this game up after watching it. Uncharted is THE PS3 game to get this holiday season.

It's not a 10 out of 10, I'm sure for a change it's going to be a great title for the ps3 though but a 10? No.

It's not smoothly animated, in fact it's quite similar to Tomb Raider in copied style and movements. That's not a bad thing but it's definately not a great thing either. It has weaknesses as well as strenghts too.
I'd personally rather play the new Tomb Raider anniversary on the Xbox 360.

Uncharted isn't the ONLY true Next Gen Game, Assassins has a Crap load of animations as well. I can't wait for that and Uncharted to drop.

But my friend was over the other day and I showed him the recent trailers that Sony has released on the PSN store in High Definition, and he went to IGN later that night to read about the game. I saw him a couple days later and he told me that when this game comes out, he is going to pick up a PS3 just for Uncharted. Good stuff!

i think this game will be very good. but i am sceptical it will get 10s. surely it deserves it more than other games, that got recently so often 10s, but we are talking about bias. i dont believe the biased media, especially in the usa will give this game a rating it deserves. imo there are better games that will come in the future, there are ff13, mgs4 and killzone2, they will destroy everything, but till then i will play uncharted, an amazing game!

Yea this game will be awesome. Ever since the Ratchet and clank review on Gamespot i go by metacritic for the overall review and IGN,Gamepro and EGM for the scores. To heck with Gamespot, MS is paying them too much money to rate this game high. DRAKE FTW!

I can remember Sony fangirls crying that Bioshock on the 360 didn't deserve a 10 out of 10, or higher then a 9 out of 10 because of it having no multiplayer.

So I guess in their view, Uncharted also doesn't deserve over a 9 out of 10 now?

Funny is: I have always said that the only exclusive game that would be on or over 90% AAA on the PS3 this year would be Uncharted. Metacritics has Ratchet&Clank on 89% now.

First reviews from Playstation mags that always give 10's, after that a lot of more down to earth reviews. But I bet Uncharted will be in the 92% to 94% range average reviews. In the end, I was pretty much right on Lair, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk while PS fangirls were crying that at least 5 killer apps above 90% average reviews were coming in 2007. Wrong.

which is perfect. open vast plenty of exploration. not your typical shoot in 3rd person... ala the great Gears of war linear and confined, a very excellent corridor shooter with not much draw distance.

games need to go in this direction. and move away from the corridor esq traversing, one hall way to the next. Good going ND this is your 10/10 and i honestly believe you and insomniac are Sony's best. everything the 2 of you touch is gold. bring on Jack, and insomniac bring on resistance 2

The two biggest gaming sites for averaging reviews are gamerankings and metacritic.

Regarding ratchet and clank...
Gamerankings = 91%
Metacritic = 89%

It's really up to you which site you go with, but if you average the sites together, Ratchet is 90% overall.

I think uncharted will be in the 90th percentile as well. I say that because of all the positive previews I've read, and all the great gameplay videos I've already seen.

this game looks fantastic ive been very excited for this game since the first trailers at E3 and its amazing that the game looks even better both graphically and the way it plays since then. this game is gonna take action adventure to a whole new level its gonna be a good month for ps3 owners thats for sure

I don't see how any reviewer can't give this game a positive review. I am however confident they will find a way.

1up will probably deduct marks for the box art, Gamespot will probably deduct marks to give a lower score than the lowest score. It's sad how much people invest in reviews.

I just joined this site and I'm glad to see a lot of supporters for this game. This is a 100% day one purchase for me.

On a side note: I admit I have been lurking around N4g.com for quite some time now just to read up on user comments and it is so damn easy to see who the fanboys are. Why are you guys answering back to them? That's what they want. To get you all worked up for nothing. I just joined and I'm going to put them on my ignore list already.

i pre-ordered mine already. so i'm gonna get this on day one. by the way call of duty 4 comes out tomorrow and ps3 version is the way to go... back to the topic, UNCHARTED DRAKES FORTUNE is gonna be "the game of the year" from what i have seen. they have simulated human movements and emotions in almost lifelike fashion and pushing it where no one else have gone before... and this should score a perfect 10 anything less would be a fake review.. peace out dudes.

Great review for a great game.. I think the reviewer is in love with Nathan.... This game, mass effect, and heavenly sword should change the way people make games. I can not wait to get this game.. Im soo excited and i just cant hide it.. lol

the only way my PS3 collects dust is if I leave town for a week or two on business. Otherwise, it's all "work" and no "play" for the ol' PSTriple. It never rests.

my personal thoughts on the game? it's from Naughty Dog. i'm expecting a fun time. that's all.

people put too much stock in reviews, and don't try out any games for themselves anymore. there are plenty of games in my collection that probably average a 6 or so in review scores, but i personally like them and enjoy them, even though i know they are not perfect. it shouldn't matter what score a game gets, but whether or not the game is interesting to you.

i mean, imagine if i put stock in reviews from places like Gamespot; i would have probably passed on Ratchet and Clank Future. thankfully, i tried out the demo way back when, and picked up the game when it launched. i think it's awesome.

remember people; it's *YOUR money, not the reviewers. buy what you *WANT, not what someone tells you you should buy. if you buy a stinker, well, thems the breaks, but at least you tried it out for yourself and took a chance. don't be sheep.

Uncharted is looking better and better each time i see it, and it's finally looking like that PS3 game that reviewers and dissenters alike will have to grudgingly admit is worth it's salt.

they brushed off great games like Resistance (graphics didn't match Gears of War), Heavenly Sword (too short), Warhawk (no single player), Folklore (too, i dunno, *DIFFERENT, i guess), and even Ratchet (too much variety. lol. sorry, i couldn't resist that one). but i don't think they'll be able to do that with Uncharted without looking, well, a little spiteful and even hypocritical (the game has a lot of things they usually demerit PS3 games for, if the 360 version has it; like achievements, rumble, Live components, and the fact that it's not a 360 game).

it has so many different play styles that variety shouldn't be a problem, and it looks like it handles the mix very well. the characters and story are looking rock solid, and of course, the graphics are absolutely stunning. not many games on the 360 have a color palette as lush and vivid as Uncharted (Ratchet and Clank Future is another one that bursts with color; no dull brown and grey here).

Uncharted is definitely one of the three purchases i'm looking forward to this month (the other two are Assassin's Creed, and Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga for me and my fiance to play together).

I wouldn't necessarily jump in my car and drive down to Gamestop to pick up this game based on this one review (who was that guy anyway?) but I have a real gut feeling that Uncharted will get great reviews from all the respectable sources out there (and I also have a gut feeling that all the 360 geeks will jump on the defensive saying its all a fluke).

This generation will be decided by first-party software, and Sony is clearly approaching the front lines will a powerful botallion.

I dont need reviews to know this game will rock. This will definitely be in my PS3 soon enough.

I love just about everything I have seen so far. I have been limiting myself though as I dont want to spoil nothing. Only thingIi see being bad is its the first installment(i.e. no prequel) and it seems those either slowly get a following or fail(for any genre almost). I know this will not fail but I wish there was a way to expedite enticing people to buy it.... If that makes sense at all. e.g If God of War 3 were announced no matter how bad it was (wont happen but if) everyone would buy it. a new IP comes out about a super dog, Could be an amazing game but because its a super dog.... I fear to many people have played tomb raider and Indiana jones and will say "Been there, Played that" and wont buy in to this. I hope thats wrong. Dead wrong but.... I dunno. I am kinda a skeptic... Anyway this is a day 1 purchase for me though. Had it preordered for months now.

What ever happened to professionalism within gaming reviews? For a reviewer to say something like "get ready to dust off [insert console]" is just ridiculous and laughable. This guy/gal/tranny should be fired STAT. On another note, the game is looking absolutely phenomenal.

This review is a joke. Besides that, the game looks mediocre. Why? Because it appears to be a Tomb Raider clone. So, it's like playing Tomb Raider, but without Lara Croft. I predict that it will get 8s at best, but in the end, the game will be forgettable. Metacritic and Gamerankings will average 78%. Not bad, but not great.

For me it's 2, 1, 4, 3, and GA; That's going from the time I first played them not now. Now I would have it 2, 4, 3, 1, GA.

Uncharted 2, 1, 4, 3 that's is my order of best to worst. kend you they're all great in their own right.

I have to agree with that order (2, 4, 3, 1), though I think The Lost Legacy was also a great entry. Now I'm motivated to go back to Vita, finish Golden Abyss, then play the remastered trilogy on PS4 :)
