Let me preface this by saying that I don't disagree but let me also make comparisons to other games that share similar features. Putting a game like Child of Eden into a genre is always hard, you can say it’s a music game, you can say it’s an on-rails shooter or you can say that it's a non-game game. In either case it’s a genre that isn't widely popular. Look at a game like Tekken or Mortal Kombat. Those games are considered short too and have likeness to past fighting games. The selling point with these franchises is the replay ability and Child of Eden has that written all over it. The difference is that most players haven't experienced replay ability in this genre, or if they have they don't see the appeal in it. Thus the invention of the opinion!"

Atari has obtained the rights to five lesser-known Ubisoft titles. The deal includes Cold Fear, I Am Alive, Child of Eden, Grow Home, and Grow Up.

Jack writes: "“Are video games art?” This is a perennial argument, one with staunch advocates on both sides who are hard to sway. Naysayers, though, can be shown examples of art in video games that are hard to deny – such as the visuals of the sadly overlooked Child of Eden, released for Kinect in 2011."
