I think Sony will keep these guys for augmented reality titles for both PS3 and PSV. This is a good thing as it means Sony will have at least one developer targetted towards this gaming trend. (but I really wish Sony would pick up some JPN devs)

personally I would love to see a new Invizimals on PSV, but I think Sony should be a bit more ambitious with it, say on a Pokemon esque scale. I know Pokemon is never really going to be topped anytime soon, but I think Invizimals has the potential to grab a decent niche...

But I am concenred about Reality Fighters... does not look like the most compelling PSV titles atm but I guess we will see how the final code measures up.

Acquire Quantic Dream
@Nicaragua
He meant they are a almost no name development team that has not established to be a good selling company.

solideagle15478d ago

i would personally want Sony to acquire RPG developers like Level-5 or make a studio and Hire Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura (PS fan). Atlus can be ice on the cake. Insomniac but they want to be independent.

thanks

gaffyh5478d ago

They badly need a JRPG-only developer. Legend of Dragoon PS3 needs to happen!

There is more to the gameplay than I first thought though. I saw a train crush an opponent and the ground open up and swallow an oponent. Touch will also play a roll I gather. Seems like the perfect tech demo in all honesty.

SilentNegotiator5478d ago

ehhhh. Most of their titles are "Invizimals" games. Not quite as exciting as when they landed the Ragdoll Kung Fu devs, or Media Molecule.

kingdavid5478d ago (Edited 5478d ago )

Ill say again.

What games have they made? Are they new? Can someone provide a quick background?

Nicaragua5478d ago

You know you could have googled it and answered your qustion yourself in far less time than typing those two comments.

I_find_it_funny5478d ago

they created Invizimals for PSP

Sitris5478d ago

Really? Your that lazy that you can't type in google and try yourself. Kids these days..........

mantisimo5478d ago

Sony arent stupid they tend to buy devs when something good is cooking eg media molecule et al.

Soldierone5478d ago

Pretty easy to find that background lol...if you dont want to read the article, try this

Their game for PSVita looks like it might be fun and funny.

Sony is pretty smart on who the choose to get.

firemassacre5478d ago

sony dont stop with those exclusives

Why o why5478d ago (Edited 5478d ago )

*looks around nervously* woah dude...lauding or wanting exc1usives is strictly prohibited here in fact even the word is taboo, dirty and draws a lot of hate.. just call them 'more unique games' or 'mugs' for short...that way people wont get offended...you've gotta be careful man;)

MysticStrummer5478d ago

It's a brilliant move by Microsoft. First they convinced their fans that exclusives don't matter, and now they're moving to Phase 2, which is convincing them that games in general don't matter. Great cost cutting strategy, in my opinion.

YodaCracker5478d ago

They're not doing a very good job at "Phase 2", since the Xbox 360 sees more releases every year than any other console, be they exclusive, multiplatform, console exclusive, Kinect, Arcade, indie, you name it. It's simply a fact that the 360 sees the most releases.

Max_Dissatisfaction5478d ago

more mediocre exclusives coming up. 1 out of 10 exclusives are triple A so far from sony...what is the point of an exclusive if it doesn't seem any different from the average games released this year?

cereal_killa5478d ago

Awwww what a poor little butthurt Muppet. even if 1 out of 20 exclusives turn out to be AAA thats still 18 more exclusive Sony owners get to play over M$s 2 exclusives each year I really wish they would move the release date of Gears 3 so you would spend some time playing your 360 instead of coming on here hoping for more games other than Kinect kiddie carnival games

Imalwaysright5478d ago

Wanting every game to be triple AAA is unreasonable. At least Sony tries to give PS3 owners diversity and games to play. Just be happy that those 1 out of 10 triple AAA games are some of the best games this generation has to offer.

Knushwood Butt5478d ago

If I had been stupid enough to waste my cash on Kinect, I'd be dissatisfied too. I sympathise with the guy.

Why o why5478d ago

yeah mate, i played yakuza 4 infamous 2, lbp2 but i skipped on motorstorm and mlb the show. You're fine with last years games and multiplats...Good for you

jimbone795478d ago

@ Why o why
Look I know Max was trolling, and shame on him for it, but I hate comments like yours. What’s wrong with playing last year’s games? Did they automatically stop being good when the ball dropped this year? If so then what is the official time a game stays good? If it drops in Dec. is it good until the next Dec., or is it only good until the first of next year? I also don’t get why multi-plats is such a dirty word on this site. Are ya’ll really trying to say that because a game comes out on more than one platform it doesn’t count, or makes it less of a game? Still I’m lost in this logic, how, when , why does this make any sense at all…ever. Who makes these rules, and why do they get to say how long a game is good? Also I haven't played MGS4, should I skip it now because it's too old, or is it held at a different standard? Why o why do the people here only count upcoming games? I just don’t get the logic. Can you PM me a copy of the "official N4G gaming guide" so I can read up on the rules, because I'm clueless about this kind of thing, and I want to know the reasoning behind such claims. Sorry if I came off too douchey, but I really don’t get your logic….at all.

Looks like PlayStation took a hit with Marathon and is now quietly adjusting prices worldwide to recover the losses

andy8562d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele61d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla61d ago (Edited 61d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk61d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

Eonjay61d ago

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

Athlon10162d ago (Edited 62d ago )

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit61d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg61d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon10161d ago (Edited 61d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz14961d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

I dont think that'll ever happen. But i must say back in the day, they were definitely trying because they were more cash rich than their competitors.

CosmicTurtle74d ago

I think MS were and still are the richer company. They tried to acquire Sega back in the day (and considered doing so again more recently), they obviously bought exclusivity to Halo which was originally shown as a Mac title. I don’t think as a company MS can claim the moral high ground here. It’s a wilful lack of self awareness.

Of course Sony would try exactly the same if they had the resources, but when the PS2 dominated the industry was in a much healthier place with an abundance of great third parties.

This has been a depressing generation as far as first party decisions are concerned. The fact we are debating business plans rather than which game is better is a sad reflection of the state of things.

Darkseeker75d ago (Edited 75d ago )

There was Nintendo as well, Sony wouldn't have had a monopoly. In fact, the world would be better today if Xbox never existed in the first place. They pretty much brought all bad practices we have today. We might have gotten all of it either way, but not this early. In term of franchises, I don't think there is anything Microsoft released that would actually be missed if it didn't exist. Even Halo the world wouldn't notice if Halo didn't exist.

S2Killinit74d ago

MS was definitely a bad influence on gaming.

raWfodog75d ago

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe that the best way to drive consumers to your software and hardware is to invest smart in your first-party studios. Give them full support and guidance in making unique, fun games that are only available to play in your ecosystem and the gamers will come.

Reaper22_75d ago (Edited 75d ago )

But first party studios aren't enough. They only make up a small portion of the industry. Without 3rd party there would be no industry for Microsoft or sony.Developing games take time and money and sometimes you gotta make moves to stay competitive.

raWfodog75d ago

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

SimpleDad75d ago

They Shure did a great job... 25 years later Xbox is dead.

Reaper22_75d ago

Then why be so emotional and continue to talk about it. Xbox will never die be ause it stays in so many people's head.

lodossrage75d ago

How can you even see him being "emotional" in that comment?

If anything, you're the emotional one, constantly trying to go at anyone that says anything against Microsoft. So when you call him emotional, it comes off as deflection

Elda74d ago

I own an XBSX & I can say it's becoming irrelevant out of the 3 current consoles.
