"For Cryptic Studios, working on the latest entry in the Neverwinter franchise seems like a no-brainer. The company has made a name for itself since 2000 in the RPG genre with titles like City of Heroes/Villains, Champions Online and Star Trek Online, and even has ties to the pen and paper community. Cryptic Executive Producer Shane Hensley owns and runs Pinnacle Entertainment, publisher of the steampunk-ish western Deadlands, and CEO Jack Emmert has worked in the field as well. Which perhaps makes the studio uniquely qualified to tackle an online game based on the pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition. gamrFeed recently had a chance to chat with Cryptic Producer Andy Velasquez about what the team has in store for Neverwinter."

Cryptic Studios announced with a press release that more of its veteran developers have returned to the studio following tenures elsewhere.

The MMO studio says it’s “unifying legacy expertise with fresh perspectives”

Regardless of how you choose to play it – be it on a controller or go old school with keyboard and mouse – Neverwinter Nights 2 proves that it’s still one of Obsidian’s best games.
