Exactly. I'm glad somebody else understands this.

Demon's Souls is one of the very few games out there that was MEANT to be played with a guide or wiki. Without one, it's almost impossible to figure out what the various statistics mean, what different types of stones (sharpstone, marrowstone, etc) do, what you can do with boss souls, what items like the Broken Sword are for, how character tendency works, and so on.

You don't need a guide to hold your hand through each level. You need it to understand the game mechanics. The wiki is part of the Demon's Souls community by design.

I have a agree with both of you, the guide was extremely useful, in part because the game itself overlooks very important aspects such as if you release mr happy he will start killing residents of the nexus.

If you kill patches for setting you up, your sol on the best arrows you can buy till the next playthrough ect.

I like that it prevent dumbass moves like not knowing a bosses soul can be used for a unique spell or weapon, instead of using the soul and get 5-20 minutes worth of grinding 4-1 or 4-2 in souls.

But a digital guide lame as hell.

Btw to any 360 owner or ps3 who didn't play demons souls, do yourself a favor buy a spare controller ahead of time, that way your not going to walmart ect at 5:00 am needing another controller.
