Battlefield 3 - It's a 4 Man Squad

How about 4 man squad for consoles, 6 man for PC. We all know PC gamers use better teamwork so why not 5 or 6?

I got to agree on this. Not everyone has a mic on PSN but for PC they have text chat. If they could implement text chat to PS3 that would be cool.

64 players 4 man squads? hmm... 4x16. Will we have 16 squads on each side of the field? huh?

PC should be given 6 player or 8 player squads. 8 sounds best to me. 4 is just absurd on a battlefield. Its a flaw of Bad Company 2 I believe. Size of a squad makes no difference in if someone wants to actually do the team objective or not. You need more people to promote leadership and motivation to get a squad moving not less. On Bad Company 2 so few people actually talk to squad mates at all. That is never a problem when I played Battlefield 2.

Hopefully something that can be patched into the PC version at some point.

I'm pretty sure this was common knowledge already? By the way BFBC2 didn't have 6 man squads, BF2 did.

I would like to be able to talk with the entire team as opposed to only my squad. There should be options.

DEFINATELY!!!!

It is somewhat annoying and a bit stupid that you can only talk to your squad.

It should be automatic talk to your squad, press and hold to talk to entire team, with quick and easy mute options in case you get annoying people in the team who you don't want to listen to.

The game would really open up for the teamwork if you could press and hold to talk to whole team.... you could co-ordinate the teams for flanking maneuvers, or to attack or hold certain areas.... it seems pretty obvious that it should be an option really!

i wish there was a game mode where you can party up with more than 4 people... this was the reason i stopped playing BC2 because i couldnt not play with all my friends

Same here, I got fed up with bfbc2's limited squad and voice options. The game itself was amazing, but they fudged up when it came down to actual team work / cooperation. I'm dissappointed to hear that they are doing the same to BF3. BF2 had such an awesome system for squads and chat (the commo rose). I don't get why the are going with the bfbc2 system =/

Most people who play team games on PC use a third party program for the voice chat due to better clarity and reliability anyways.

I don't mind the fact that they're only allowing squads of 4. It's the fact that I hope they let us talk to the rest of our team! I mean on consoles there is only 12 players, so I hope they will let us choose between Squad Chat and Team chat.

It really becomes frustrating when a person gets inside a helicopter or ANY vehicle for that matter and the driver/pilot are in different squad then gunner and there is NO WAY to talk to one another.

This is one of those games that i am really excited, the only thing i'm a little sad about is the fact that consoles was not able to get 32 players max.

I would like to know more about party/lobby system, BF:BC2 failed if you had more than 3 friends, trying to get parties bigger than 4 togather was hassle, I hope there's a lobby system similar to COD.

Yeh that is one of the main things that is wrong with BF:BC2, I still play the game alot, but that pisses me off!

Get rid of campaigns, move the game to mobile, and try to compete with warzone. They would save time and money.

DICE have already stated that they actually don't know how to. They literally have no idea what made BC2 so good and clearly have no idea how to repeat it.

Which is so ignorant it almost physically hurts.

They have the damn templates lol. Everyone LOVED Battlefield all the way up through BF4. Everything after BF4 is where fans started getting divided because they started dumbing down the gameplay.

So they need to go back to the favorites. Bad Company 2. BF3 and BF4.

Take those games. Take the exact same gameplay. Update the graphics. Add some different game modes. Make new maps. Add new guns. Choose two armies. And make a single player campaign.

That's seriously it. They need to quit trying to make BF something it isn't. They have everything they need. Why they can't figure this out just hurts my brain trying to understand.

BF3? They need to go back to BF2 for the mainline. Heck, I'd settle for true-to-source remakes of BF2 and BC2 (w/ Vietnam). Everything they've done in the 'modern' era is just bad.

I've not played 2042 myself but after v I don't feel like it. I played a few hours of v with friends but it feels ultra sterile I can't figure it out but the game looks and feels clinical. The storys in the campaign were also bland and uninteresting and felt like a dull trudge through checkpoints as you waited for an ending.

I've played the franchise dating back to it's original PC launch and PS2 spin off games I did enjoy 1 overall and it's take on placing you in different scenarios and battles was interesting but not all that good imo as you couldn't really connect with any characters longer than 2 hours.

hardline for all the hate it recived was a fun story and a new take but a bad mp game

I feel like v overall was the turning point and instead of showing the gritty reality of war they turned everything sterile and presented it in a clean cut boring frame in order to pump it full of weird micro transactions overall they spent far to much time on trying to implant ray tracing and other graphical flourishes and forgot to make the game enjoyable
