VGW: I let my assessment of the gaming experience marinate in my mind over the course of the week of release, including the now infamous tweet by Jim Redner of the Redner Group, and decided that my 14 years of waiting compelled me to think that one playthrough of the title was not enough for me. I owed Duke and the team that worked to get his latest adventure in my hands more. So, the Thursday following release, I decided to plug back into the delirious world of Duke Nukem Forever one more time.

Duke Nukem Forever originally began its life as a sidescroller instead of a shooter back in 1996, and that canceled version has just been leaked.
Very cool, but i don't know how real this is... I'll check it out later to find out.

Duke Nukem Forever, the troubled FPS from Gearbox and 3D Realms, has been restored to more traditional 90s shooter thanks to a sweeping “remaster” mod
kinda of a misleading title.
Mod features:
Sprinting removed and faster player movement
Jump height increased
Swim speed is much faster
Player can now hold breath underwater for 45 seconds instead of 15
Weapon rebalance and screen shake when shooting removed
2/4 weapon limit completelly removed
Quicksaves (F5 by default)
Depth of Field removed and new post processing effects
Driving sections are now in first person perspective
yw.

Duke Nukem Forever, the infamous and controversial FPS from 3D Realms, apparently looked much better before launch, as modders discover various cut features
Wow, that advanced lighting makes a huge difference to the visuals. I get that Gearbox tried to slap everything together and release a finished product. But it seems like they cut out a lot of content that would have made the experience more enjoyable. That's a shame.
of course it didnt completely suck...95 percent did
edit:prove me wrong!,i also got it from the red box and played for two hours and returned it,my expectations were really low and the game still sucked balls, coming from a real duke fan(loved dn3d)i am very pissed, stop being in denial!
Well i'm having fun with it, only because I rented from redbox for $2. If I had payed $60 I would've been very disappointed lol.
At the end of the day its all opinion. Unfortunately for 90% of the people who have played it.... they all said it sucks
how can anyone be mad with an N64 game that dosn't take itself seriously
shows how greedy gamers are now a days HAS to be EXACTLY like this or else its bad......when really it should be is this fun amusing? yes good
but no has to be prefect graphics call of duty gameplay no story what so ever....cause gamers nowadays don't know what real games are anymore....Duke has never been a serious game but of course people who did play it know that
It sucks all right...
