its the same as guitar hero was a few years back, its a fun idea when you have people over drinkig, & not for you & a buddy its fun for a few people to get involved other than that, no i have no use for it. This is comming from a guy who bought move on launch day :( one of the worst $100 ive ever blown!

kinect is perfect for fitness games, and does lots of other cool things aswell

move has its benefits aswell, tabletennis being the perfect example

maybe a combination of both would be the best solution even for the hardcore

kinect 2 and move 2 , will be really interesting to see, they might even get as big as a console launch

I'd like to have it as an option. So when I don't want to go hardcore and serious on the controller I can just pick up the motion device and have some classic fun :)

Anything extra whether motion controls, voice command, or augmented reality is welcomed to have variety. So long as it stays an option/extra and is not forced upon you I'm all for motion gaming!

Yes, although it is not absolutely necessary. I just wish they would start cranking out more Move games. That thing has TREMENDOUS potential, especially for sword and gun games. However, motion gaming has it's place and should not replace traditional controllers for certain games unless it has the potential to enhance the experience. Fortunately, it is easy to patch games to add motion controls.

The future of gaming is diverse, just like the present, and there will be games for every demographic just like now. There will probably continue to be plenty of games for us hardcore gamers just like there are now.

(although I wish there were more that are somewhat brutal like Demons Souls)

I never thought I did.

I dont want crappy party games where you jump from raft to raft or get hit in the face with balls.

But I honestly wish EVERY shooter had Sharpshooter support. Its just a completely different (better) experience, the same way a driving game is different with a wheel.

Plus I'd love a first person hardcore Bushido Blade with acurrate 1:1 sword tracking and injuries happen where you hit them. You have to hit a vital spot to get a kill, but a hit on the leg will cause an opponent to limp.

I don't mind having motion controls as a way to interact with a video game. Yet I feel as if motion gaming, above other things, is being pushed as the standard way to interact with video games.

I believe that motion controllers should be used in certain types of games where one can really benefit from it. It should be used selectively based on the type of interactivity a video game offers. For example, a steering wheel for a driving game, a flight stick for a flying game, and a light gun for a shooter. Motion gaming developers really need to step back and focus on a particular purpose. Otherwise, Sony and Microsoft are going to continue the same trend as Nintendo and produce shovelware just to ensure motion control is included.

Personally I prefer the standard controllers.

i can see motion control being cool in a few places like:

Doing hand gestures with your right hand, in multiplayer FPS.

doing head movements/gestures, basically nod yes/no

leaning your body to look around a corner.

doing custom teabagging.

Dont care for it, only thing i try was wii and never got into it, and i in no way plan on getting kinect (however u spell it), or even the ps3 motion controllers
ill stick to using my 10 lil finges to poke buttons, with the motion stuff being implimented into gaming systems, right now im seeing myself fully drifting over to pc gaming by time next gen systems come out

I think there is DEFINITELY a place for motion gaming, but like the guy in the article said. GIVE ME A GAME THAT'S DEDICATED TO MOVEMENT. Not some integrated BS. We want 1:1 motion not gesture-based animations and guided movement!.

I enjoy using the Playstation Move on Killzone 3 its nice to know that i have an alternative whenever i want it

As long as its optional and they dont force you into it. I am fine with motioncontrols.

Yes, MOVE works awesome for the majority of genre's.

Same can't be said for the laughable KINECT.

Other than DANCE games, it hopeless.

Personally i could live without motion control games, but, ive never thought of it as a bad thing.

My girlfriend will actually play games with me now. Infact, she has started to buy a few titles of her own i.e: Michael Jackson, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit etc.. In my house gaming used to mean watching "the guys play". But now, we can bring her and others to the table (to a certain extent).

i dont.and my gf doesnt as well.she actually loves dualshock in a bare form,without deeper triggers and such.

That definitely would have been the absolute worst time for stick drift to happen...

I always wanted a true to life surgery simulator for PSVR1. I always knew those Move controllers were precise AF under the proper conditions.

Move was a very accurate device under good conditions. Dr Marks even wanted to open it up for hobbyists and developers to extract more data to do more things. I even seen him use it for space, astronaut like simulations.

Sony always had the tech. They just needed the software to go with it. PS Move limit was not having an analog stick. Which it seems the PS5 controller made up for that.

I would like to see them use PS VR 2 for surgery or something with that eye tracking built in.
