Why wouldnt the WiiU support more than one controller?

That would be stupid for nintendo to do. It would cut their accessory sales in half.

Wonder if they're talking about more than one WiiU controller, or like by every other indication, all of the old Wii controllers?

i don't care much about how many controllers , it's more about a controller with triggers that's not gonna cost you over $100 and it's a solid one that feels good in your hands for extended play so i can play blockbuster titles such as BFBC3.

twice as powerful as the 360/ps3 (they are practically the same, ps3 with a very slight edge maybe, or just better developers).....thats all that matters to me

This would be awesome if true. I my self would not have a problem dropping a hundred for an extra controller. I also think other people would not have a problem with that either. The reason I say that is because people bought guitars that could only be used on one game.

I myself have payed a heavy price years ago for some nice guitars for either Guitar Hero or Rock Band. So paying a high price for a new controller that can be used on more then just one game would not be a problem for me.

Because like I said I bought guitars & you can only play them on one game. But with this new controller you can use it with every game.

So I hope this turns out true & Nintendo will sell extra controllers.

I doubt Nintendo would release a one controller only console. Nintendo, no matter how much they change have always been about connectivity and playing with friends.

They really need at least 2 that work for any multiplayer or co-op games.

This thing will sell like hotcakes for families. Kids can go to separate rooms and play a game together off the console in the living room.

That's a pretty good selling point. And as long as the system is about 1.5 times as powerful as the 360 of PS3, then the solo experience or the U part of WiiU will be more than enough to satisfy the people who want Nintendo to get back to their roots as far as a console goes.

Miyamoto said it himself, only 1 WiiU controller can connect to the console. I think Miyamoto's word is worth a little more then someone who claims they have inside knowledge from their "sources".

What's the point of even speculating? Nintendo has clearly said that it's only one controller per console. The controller won't even be sold separately.

I didn't know whether or not to actually make an article about this, seeing as how this was already up, but Michael Pachter got told by Reggie that it would support two Wii U controllers.
