I found it to be a good read.

I love dmc. To this day nothing has surpassed it gameplay wise except dmc 3. This crap is so far from what made these games awesome its not even funny. The game being eastern is what mAde western gamers like it. Capcom has lost touch with its fans. I love old capcom bc they were an eastern developer with original ideas. To westernize their games is to alienate all the western gamers that used to love them. Epic fucking fail again capcom. When the hell are you going to learn.

Weeeeeeeell....Looks like im going to call the new Dante Dino from now on!!

Breadisgood5375d ago

Same here, the new Dan...er...Dino looks garbage.

Why are Capcom always trying to westernize their games these days? We love those crazy Japanese games as they are. How do they think their games franchises got so big in the first place?

-X-5375d ago

I know right. And its not just Capcom too. I hate it when publishers/developers change something..get negative result..then ask Where did we go wrong....(-_-)...*that stare is for you square enix.

I disagree I think it looks better than I originally thought it would. I am a huge Devil May Cry fan (it was the reason I even bought my ps2 back in the day.)

While I dont agree with the new design of Dante it makes sense. The early Dante we are seeing isnt Dante at all but Tony Redgrave (which I believe has already been confirmed by Capcom). I can at least appreciate what Ninja Theory is trying to do. They are trying to fully flesh out Dantes back story, but I would wait until I see more finished footage of the combat before I just completely call it a failure that just doesnt seem fair.

@Xilus: You dont have to call him Dino you can just call him Tony =)

Breadisgood5375d ago

I don't get what you're trying to say.

You say it isn't Dante, and then say it is in one post.

It is Dante, and Tony Redgrave is just an alias he uses in some of the comics.

VileAndVicious5375d ago (Edited 5375d ago )

Well, Tony Redgrave represents more than just an allias. The reason he went by this name was because he basically hated who he was, he didnt want to accept who he was and pretty much hated his father. It wasnt until Dante (Or Tony) accepted who he was did he recieve his real power.

If you think about it that way, it explains the way he looks and alot of other things they have hinted at in the trailers.

It seems like what NT is doing is telling a story where Dante is a rebellious teen who "eventually" becomes the character we all know.
Kind of a "rags to riches thing"

Breadisgood5375d ago (Edited 5375d ago )

It's still Dante, and the idea of him being portrayed as a "rebellious teen" makes me cringe.

I don't want to play as a rebellious teen (I've already been one, like most people) and I certainly don't want Dante of all people to be portrayed in that way. The Devil May Cry world is really bizzare and over the top, I don't want it to be made into something more realistic and relatable.

I'd buy a Twilight game if I wanted to play as this douche.

Edit: (Gah, I need more bubbles!!)

@The post below;

Yeah I guess he basically is one in DMC3, but it still doesn't really feel relatable, or anything much like a teen in real life, just because everything else that goes on in Devil May Cry is so crazy, and Dante is so over the top.

I just get the feeling that it's going to be too generic. It's not going to have that special quirkiness that Japanese games have, and that's one of the main reasons I love Devil May Cry.

VileAndVicious5375d ago

Lol true but Dante has always been a rebellious teen even in DMC3 its just that this time his particular character design looks pretty horrible.

But me thinks that he probably begins to look different at some point later in the game.

You sound like you’re just a ton of fun to be around.

franwex318d ago

It’s been sitting in my backlog for a while now. One of the first games I wanted to try for this current gen due to the long load times of previous gen. I’ll get around to it soon!

One of the best, stylish, and fun action slasher on the system. You definitely should get to it, as soon as you can.

solideagle318d ago

they are taking way too much time with DMC6...

VersusDMC318d ago

The DMC5 team went on to make Dragons Dogma 2, the DMC director (3,4,5) left capcom to make an action game at another studio and the rumor is that a DMC remake is next...so i wouldn't hold my breath on DMC6.
