That headline is just...

Oddworld Inhabants screwed themselves badly when they shyed away from the PS brand & it's loyal followers, to go exclusive to MS's new console. It was rare enough, & only testament of Sony's marketing genius & great 3rd party respect & relationships, when Playstation 1 hit the market & dominated so hard selling more units than any other console before or after it....until it's sequel, the PS2 of course. Before this, SNES hit the 60million sales by life end, PS1 hit over 120million, then PS2 went on to 130million+.

Oddworld Inhabants should have migrated to where there fanbase lyed on the PS1's successor....but instead, they made a pretty lacklustre 1st effort on the new kid on the blocks console, that seemed to be tailer made for fps games predominantly.....the controller was not as universally good for all genres of games, & certainly was not suited to this type of game, or fighters, or anything other than shooters & racers basically. Nothing proves this more than the fact that Oddworld's 2nd exclusive for the Xbox was Strangers Wrath....a game set in the same universe & such as the Abe games, yet it was a 1st person shooter game which was not really a fit with this particular series,......once again, failure in sales for Oddworlds 2nd game.....but at least Strangers Wrath was more the quality of game people expected from the studio.

I can't wait for Stranger remake on PS3, as I skipped it on Xbox, after buying my Xbox with Halo & Munch's Odysee, only to be bitterly dissapointed by Munch's below averageness. Was definately crap compared with Oddworlds PS1 games, so I automatically looked over Strangers Wrath, & to be honest, I'm glad I did, as this sounds like it shall be the definative version, much like I missed Riddick & bought that on PS3 & loved it.

I hope Oddworld make a comeback to the games industry, as there departure was another travesty, & those talented, unique, artists of gaming genius need to be involved in this industry, they need to make games on the platform where they belong in PS....they could go exclusive to Sony now, & would have four machines to cater to in PS3, PSP, PSVita & PS4's obvious early development that anyone would be a moron for not thinking it's going on already.
Then, if the PS brand did not offer them enough potential for large returns, then they could go multiplat on systems of there choice. I just think it's logical, & they need to give back some love to the fanbase that supported them due to PS fans inherant love for games that offered uniqueness coupled with high quality, especially back in PS1 days. I was disgusted with PS2's departure from this when games like Okami, BG&E, Ico, etc,etc, were over looked by it's fanbase....but as these were new IP's with very offbeat titles, they struggled in a massive ocean of quality games, mix that huge lineup of great titles, with that of movie licences, music licences like 50cent that shamedly sold great but sucked, & other games of varying from medium to horrible quality & we can sort of justify the fact that the afforementioned great titles, amongst others, got lost in that vast ocean of great games, & with titles like God Of War that sounded like not only games, but awesome games, & lived up to that in gameplay & overall production values, then it is sadly understandable that a game titles Ico, did not fare well up against the God Of Wars, Socom:Navy Seals, Timesplitters, & such.

It's about time we got something new or any type of news about the Oddworld universe.

I watched Lorne's EGX presentation and he's as cool and enlightening as ever.

Really looking forward to Soulstorm and will be supporting it. Oddworld Inhabitants a studio that really put themselves on the line for their art and series' vision.
