Hitman: Absolution's AI is "way more complex"

OXM UK: "Io Interactive's next Hitman will offer significantly beefier AI, capable of calling in reinforcements at key junctures. Some levels will also reverse the franchise's classic infiltration format, putting guards in a hostile state from the outset."

AI sounds very promising :)

killzone 2 AI still one of best this gen

KZ2 AI is the best I have seen so far, unbelievable really. Whats really good is that KZ3 does not rely on infinite spawning AI until you cross an invisible line (COD does that), throwing a large number or AI or extremely powerful / cheating enemies, it just uses realistic AI who use cover, work in teams, try to flush you out of cover with grenades and push you back.

KZ2 received a lot of hate claims that it would not match the graphics of that E3 trailer. Funny thing is, even though KZ2 did get there and become the most graphically intensive game seen on consoles, but that was not the best part of the game – the AI, multiplayer and unique art style and control scheme stood out more.

Incidentally, you seem to have received three disagrees already from some “gamers” who couldn’t be bothered to specify which games exactly beat KZ2 on AI and why.

AI is "way more complex". I have heard countless devs say things like this(though I could be wrong)in the end Ai will be dumb as a door bell.

Crysis 2 was supposed to have the best Ai ever in any first person shooter!

sigh.. I miss the days of Fear 1...

They even say "we use dynamic lighting" like they are the only one using it.

All in all I hope I am wrong & my comment is just an EPIC fail!! That would be a good thing! :D

Totally agree. Long gone the days when the devs didnt need to boast abt all these things.
But I think the exclusives this gen like Killzone and halo have some really fantastic AI. Its just these multiplatforms messing things up.

long as its better than Brink's AI

... but the unpredictable AI is part of Hitman's charm. =/

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
