hahaha nice one Nintendo Sony Win and thats that

SuperLupe5496d ago

Nobody won. Very boring E3. Luckily Sony announced a cheap price for Vita and Nintendo got us half excited with the Wii U. Either than that none of them put up an interisting show.

I mean, we dont need a 1h30 conferences to show off games weve been hearing about for several months or a year.

Sarcasm5496d ago

I actually agree with this. It was only boring because most of it was expected. There wasn't anything megaton.

Nonetheless I'm still interested in Vita.

sikbeta5496d ago

OK, lame E3, but if I have to crown one, it's Sony, the only bad about their conference was the whole Move stuff and the lack of New Games for the PS3, N was all about an orchestra, like 30 minutes of Zelda, 30 minutes of games for 3DS that were showed last year and a confusing announcement of the new console, MS had Gears3, Forza4 and new Halo games, but flooded the show with kinect...

MWong5496d ago (Edited 5496d ago )

I got to agree also E3 this year was very boring. I think 3rd parties won E3. Was impressed with; BattleField 3, AC: Revalations, MassEffect 3, ES5: Skyrim, Dust 514 (if they make it work a cross game between PC & PS3), Ghost Recon: FS and I'll say ModernWarfare 3 (I hope they refresh the MP, because the SP seems a little lacking). I love Uncharted & Gears, but those were expected to be good. A little disappointed they wont let the Master Chief rest, I hope he doesn't turn into a Mario.

Hardware wise the I was more interested in the Vita over the Wii U.

Overall I say EA won, a ton of games and Battlefield 3 blew me away. I want to see some multiplayer footage.

bruddahmanmatt5496d ago

"Win" (to most of us anyway) implies that someone (whether it's one of the Big Three or a third party dev/pub) showed up, slapped the hell out of everyone with a huge surprise and went home while everyone else was busy picking their jaws up off the floor. No one did that this year, at least not in terms of software. All of us were expecting nothing short of excellence from well-established franchises such as Battlefield, Mass Effect, Resistance and Uncharted so in that sense, it would have been very tough to catch anyone off guard. Games like NFS:The Run and Far Cry 3 look stunning visually, but so did their predecessors and we all saw how things panned out in terms of gameplay with Undercover and FC2.

Really the only thing that WOWed me was Sony's 3D TV that can output two different screens to two different users wearing active shutter glasses. THAT was cool and unexpected.

Says the guy named Uncharted3Goty. There were no megaton announcements that "actually" surprised us. Halo 4 announcement leaked thanks to Xbox US site. We already knew Vita was coming along with God Of War Origins HD Collection and we knew that Nintendo was going to announce their new console. They showed the things we already knew about and most games everyone was expecting wasn't even there (Agent, The Last Guardian, Syphon Filter and a true Medieval sequel). Only positive things about this E3 was the Halo 4 announcement and Vita's great pricing. That's all.

MostJadedGamer5496d ago

Like every year the third parties ALWAYS win. The only games I am interested the rest of the year are 3rd party games.

Bolts5492d ago

Sony won? With what?

Most of the excitement from E3 came from BF3 and Skyrim.

EA and Ubisoft WON!

HaHa_Ostrich5496d ago

EA was great, simple, lots of gameplay, generaly good stuff
Ubisoft was boring, very slow start, and when that dude coffeine started to talk I wanted to kill myself

MostJadedGamer5496d ago

Yeap I am only interested in 3 games the rest of the year, and they are EA, and Ubisoft games.

1. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
2. Battlefield 3
3. NCAA Football 12

Eternalb5496d ago

The lines at EA's booth are out of control.

NESpower5496d ago

Nintendo's lines are mighty long too.

fluffydelusions5496d ago

I think Sony won personally. Vita's game lineup, specs, and price are great.

Looks like PlayStation took a hit with Marathon and is now quietly adjusting prices worldwide to recover the losses

andy8560d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele59d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla59d ago (Edited 59d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk59d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

Eonjay59d ago

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit59d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg59d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon10159d ago (Edited 59d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz14960d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

I dont think that'll ever happen. But i must say back in the day, they were definitely trying because they were more cash rich than their competitors.

CosmicTurtle73d ago

I think MS were and still are the richer company. They tried to acquire Sega back in the day (and considered doing so again more recently), they obviously bought exclusivity to Halo which was originally shown as a Mac title. I don’t think as a company MS can claim the moral high ground here. It’s a wilful lack of self awareness.

Of course Sony would try exactly the same if they had the resources, but when the PS2 dominated the industry was in a much healthier place with an abundance of great third parties.

This has been a depressing generation as far as first party decisions are concerned. The fact we are debating business plans rather than which game is better is a sad reflection of the state of things.

Darkseeker73d ago (Edited 73d ago )

There was Nintendo as well, Sony wouldn't have had a monopoly. In fact, the world would be better today if Xbox never existed in the first place. They pretty much brought all bad practices we have today. We might have gotten all of it either way, but not this early. In term of franchises, I don't think there is anything Microsoft released that would actually be missed if it didn't exist. Even Halo the world wouldn't notice if Halo didn't exist.

S2Killinit73d ago

MS was definitely a bad influence on gaming.

raWfodog73d ago

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe that the best way to drive consumers to your software and hardware is to invest smart in your first-party studios. Give them full support and guidance in making unique, fun games that are only available to play in your ecosystem and the gamers will come.

Reaper22_73d ago (Edited 73d ago )

But first party studios aren't enough. They only make up a small portion of the industry. Without 3rd party there would be no industry for Microsoft or sony.Developing games take time and money and sometimes you gotta make moves to stay competitive.

raWfodog73d ago

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

SimpleDad73d ago

They Shure did a great job... 25 years later Xbox is dead.

Reaper22_73d ago

Then why be so emotional and continue to talk about it. Xbox will never die be ause it stays in so many people's head.

lodossrage73d ago

How can you even see him being "emotional" in that comment?

If anything, you're the emotional one, constantly trying to go at anyone that says anything against Microsoft. So when you call him emotional, it comes off as deflection

Elda73d ago

I own an XBSX & I can say it's becoming irrelevant out of the 3 current consoles.

U.S. patent examiner rejects Nintendo’s summoning characters patent as obvious: non-final ruling

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).

Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.

PRIMORDUS85d ago (Edited 85d ago )

Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.
