If I get my gears, my red dead, my mass effect, my In game music, my portal, my final fantasy and dozens other, than I'm happy with my xbox. It's not like mp games aren't worth buying.

I like to say that there is no hope for the 360 in core exclusive games.

Your right, they have gone in two different directions, MS went casual, Sony stayed mostly to the core. If you call relying on multiplats as "being core" than what the hell is the point of a hardcore gamer buying a 360 over a PS3? To pay 60 bucks for cross game chat? Yea, 360 is technically hardcore but its bare minimum, the 360 has turned into the launch version of the Wii except it at least has good 3rd party support. So Xbox 360 fanboys, which console is more hardcore again?

People tend to over exaggerate MS's transition to Casual. They are catering to both the core and casual crowd now. Nintendo opened the door to non gamers and MS and Sony followed. MS came with something different while Sony utilized similar tech with the move...

I've always thought a console's success depends on 3rd party development and MS has that support. While they do not have as many exclusives as Sony, MS has a couple extremely high level exclusives in GOW/Halo. Adding on to that is Forza and Fable, MS had the ability to invest in a new tech and focus on another audience while also focusing on their core exclusive titles instead of acquiring new ones. I thought their conference was half and half core/casual and not all casual. They introduced Ryse, they have a game with Sega that is supposed to be hard core and they are implementing kinect functions (not required) to core titles. There is nothing wrong with MS expanding their audience while "maintaining" their core games. Obviously, it has worked for xbox as they are doing quite well.

Why would I buy an xbox game over ps3? I tend to believe that live performs much better on the xbox than PSN. I have played three different titles online on both consoles: Madden 11, Street Fighter 4, and Call of duty. By far, connection quality and use on live is much better than the PSN. The live interface is better than PSN. The ease of use of live is better than PSN. Yes, it cost us 30-60 a year for live, but we get what we pay for....

In terms of graphics, the quality of graphics between the two systems for multiplat games is not significantly different either way. For a long time, games performed better on xbox, but apparently that is changing. In my experience, the difference wasnt big enough for me to pick one system over another...The thing that i base my choice on is the online experience and Xbox IMO is by far a better experience. So if i were looking for a multi play game, i usually go to xbox...

Of course they do, but they have so many franchises and seem to be pushing so few. I was hoping to see an Alan Wake 2 or PGR5 announcement at their press conference. I know there's Gears 3, Forza 4 and Halo 4 to look forward to, but Microsoft seem to be getting away with doing 'just enough' to appease core gamers.

I'm surprised they didn't plug XBLA at all, some of the console's hidden gems are on there but they remain hidden to the mainstream media.

I WANT sequels to Gears, Halo, Crackdown, Project Gotham, Forza, Fable, Crimson Skies, Alan Wake, Lost Odyssey, Conker, Banjo, Kameo, Perfect Dark, etc.

The only people who don't want sequels to those games are butthurt/jealous $ony fantrolls.

Okey can someone please enlighten me about the Core gamers, hardcore gamers and casual gamer stuff because some people are all mixing them up and I just loss track about it.

Yeah, I used to be somewhat of an xbox fanboy but honestly I gave up on them. I still love my xbox but seriously MS is now trying to target non-core and core gamers. That's good but there focusing to much on non-core gamers and making pointless games for Kinect.

Really sad about E3. The only exclusives I have to look forward to are Halo 4, Halo CE, Forza 4, and Gears 3. Needless to say there are a ton of awesome multiplatform games coming out that make up for it :D

Real gamers want more than just Gears and Halo ! They want real RPGs like Lost Odyssey and Fable.
Look at Skyrim, that game will be GOTY and for good reason- because they did not radically change their style of games, didn't dumb them down and improved and expanded upon them.

They care about the hardcore? Yeah... lets make every new I.P a Kinect experience and just have Gears, Forza and Halo to satisfy the core... There is nothing new for the core Microsoft! You told us a few years back that you were all about the core... Thanks for Halo, but everything else was shown already except for the new Kinect games.
