Try not reading to much into it ... its the usual shenanigans : they wanna raise sales , they cook up some events wich restart the universe , or add yet another universe .

It's even more annoying and silly this time , when they just recently rewrote and rebooted some series .

If it was the launch of an actual new and separate line in the vein of "ultimate" for the casual audience , it would be one thing . But they are crappy on storylines they built for years , going back to number one , all that to go back to the same muddied and confusing universe to reboot yet again , once 50 or so issues will go by .

Rocksteady's New Game Director Is an Assassin's Creed Franchise Veteran

Rocksteady has hired a new game director that not only is an Assassin's Creed franchise veteran but even worked on the Batman Arkham games.

Blad3runner00263d ago

I wonder if ex Ubisoft employees put “worked on Assassins Creed” on their resume or not, as it would give an automatic red flag to avoid hiring them.

cloganart263d ago

Unlike what we may personally think, most AC games have received generally favorable critical acclaim and managed enough commercial success to warrant an uncomfortable amount of sequels. 😂

neutralgamer1992263d ago

A series which has sold over 200 million copies should be on your resume contrary to popular belief people doing the hire want to know if you have had success before

TheColbertinator263d ago

Plenty of gamers enjoyed Valhalla, Odyssey, Ezio's trilogy and the Origins. High critical acclaim and high sellers to boot. Get off your high horse.

Inverno263d ago

The vast majority of the industry follow the Assassin's Creed template for open world games. The issue is fanboys wanna act blind to the fact that all the issues they have with AC are present in all the open world games made in the last decade. While also not having touched an AC game in that long.

It could be great! He worked as Design Director on Arkham: Origins & Game Director on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Valhalla and Origins.

I think this is a great sign that Rocksteady is shifting back to a Single Player experience after Suicide Squad. That's reason enough for me to celebrate.

HBO’s “The Penguin” Makes Me Want A Batman-Less Arkham Game

Shaz from GL: "HBO's The Penguin proves that you don't need Batman to tell a Batman story, which makes me wonder if the same could be done for a video game."

Enough of Batman less Gotham games

zsquaresoff556d ago

The only reason why anyone is watching this show is because it is in the 'Batman Universe'

GhostScholar555d ago

We got that with Arkham knights. Wasn’t great

GhostScholar555d ago

Yes I know it was called Gotham knights lol I said Arkham because if may as well been called that because it was basically a sequel.

Flewid638554d ago (Edited 554d ago )

Gotham Knights had zero connection to the Arkham series. Totally separate universe.

Rebel_Scum555d ago

Yeah no thanks. Not a fan at all of playing as other characters like Nightwing, Robin, Harley etc. Don't even like their detective mechanics much so Gordon is out too.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH555d ago

Nah Batman is needed. I only want to play as Batman in the “Batman Universe “
