SG: Zombies have infested the gaming landscape in the recent years. Whether they be the fast zombies of Left 4 Dead, the shambling ones of Dead Rising, or the more intelligent ones of Resident Evil, zombies have filled nearly every crevice in gaming. Even Red Dead Redemption and Call of Duty added some zombies for good measure. Past the point of peak popularity, zombies have saturated the market, and everyone is sick of them. Zombies have practically done everything — except tell a serious story.

We might be in the age of remasters, but it doesn't look like the Dead Island 2 devs believe remaking the original game is the right move for the series.
but remakes require far less effort for these companies and they can still charge $70 for them!
Feel like everyone makes fun of Skyrim re-releasing like 18 times yet applaud these remasters elsewhere. Would much prefer NEW games
Making sequels really is the way to go. Otherwise we'll be stuck playing only the first entry, forever!!!
Josiah Motley of KnowTechie writes: "I love video game trailers. While I don’t believe they are an integral part of a game’s success (especially these days), there’s something about a well-produced trailer that really just reminds me why I like video games."
It’s the music. It’s perfect. I agree with this for sure, it is well choreographed….unfortunately the game didn’t live up to the trailer.
Have you ever seen any of the MGS 3 or MGS 4 trailers? Those blow this out of the water for me.

Kevin F. from Link Cable Gaming writes: "Many of the best Xbox 360 games are playable on the Xbox One and Series X|S consoles. Some even with some enhanced visuals and performance. Unfortunately, not every game from the Xbox 360 library has received this glorious feat of being able to be played on more modern Microsoft consoles."
The Spider-man games will never happen. The xbox 360 Marvel Ultimate Alliance games have a better chance of happening than Spider-man titles but won't happen. The Xbox One Ultimate Alliance games delisted years ago
Yeah... you can totally forget about those entries that got delisted because of licensing issues. Those are not happening.
"Instead, we get cheesy one-liners and XP points for zombie-killing."
How much of this game have we actually seen? Eleven minutes? Also, I'm not sure if the author knows this is an RPG(-esque). ;)
@tigertron
It's hilarious even when you remember that the number of zombie-killing games is dwarfed by the number of people-killing games.
@RedDeadDestroyer
If nothing else they know how to make a good trailer. It definitely isn't alone; those trailers for MMOs (like the Star Wars one) show off all this high-octane action, but they never actually play like that, lol. For all we know, we may get some good emotion stuff in there. You wouldn't happen to be a female by any chance, would you?
@MYK1992, akaFullMetal
Me, too. This isn't the typical zombie slaughter fest; from what I've seen, the player's actions need to be a bit calculated. I still plan on getting this game at some point. I just wish it released next year to give me some time.

"So, now you bitch on the internet about everything except the real problem: YOURSELF"
Let's be fair, dude. I don't think anyone's going to b**** about himself. XD
One cannot have too many zombies.
Dead Island is a game I'm really looking forward to.
That trailer with the little girl was a stupid idea. COmpletely opposite to their game. In reality Zombies would be a depressing experiance. I will still get the game, i like RPG's, I like dead rising and I like L4D and I like free roam. So i'll get it. BUt still, just 1 serious zombie game of this calibre? Resident evil could have done it age's ago but they turned it into complete action.
Well i thought Dead Island looked sweet!
N4G lately is just a cesspool of haters' blogs who really should just move on with their lives if they are THAT hard to please with games.
Yea, so you're older, your brain doesn't hand out free chemical buzzes as much as it did when you were younger, and thus the simple things about gaming no longer amuse you. So, now you bitch on the internet about everything except the real problem: YOURSELF
Hopefully people start to wake up to this, most ,unfortunately, don't realize this until they have a kid themselves and remember what it meant to actually be amazed.
