Lol @ lil Titan.

This is great news for them, but I want to know more about these PSP to PS3 conversions. Are they compatible with NGP, are they retail or PSN only, and how much.

They should be PS3 and NGP compatible, and sold for $19.99.

DatNJDom815446d ago

This is definitely turning out to be a winner. I'm getting more excited for this.

DaTruth5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

Boon for those who got a PSPGo!(and those who went full digital) Obviously, your UMD games won't work on it!

I have a near launch PSP1000, but I only have 2 UMD games!

All we need to hear now is NGP compatibility with whatever tablet we know Sony is going to come out with! One day I may want a tablet and it would be amazing to plug my NGP into it and play on a larger HD screen!

SilentNegotiator5446d ago

It sucks that I can't play my UMD games, but I'm really NOT going to miss UMDs.

I'm glad that my "welcome Back" titles will roll over, though :)

Scary695446d ago

I am still waiting for a price on the NGP.

theafroman5446d ago

If you could play every PSN game on it that would be so boss.

Just_The_Truth5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

i'm sure you can, the psp could play minis, ps1 games and some psn titles and it came out before the store was even going.

Ju5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

I guess the main reason for this is because the NGP has no UMD drive? It is not just Mini's, it is full PSP games. And not remastered either. Resistance Retribution does support DS3 controllers on the PSP-Go (bluetooth paired DS3 controller). This will be fully supported in NGPs PSP emulation (!) - eg dual analog sticks. Read the article, they talk about a SW emulator running PSP games - not minis.

DaTruth5446d ago

Does Resistance:Retribution support dual analog sticks? I tried it with MGS:PW and it didn't support dual analog sticks; you still had to use the buttons!

One reason I never got Re:R is because the demo had really crappy controls!

Ju5446d ago

It does. You can hook it up with USB to the PS3, get extra content, use the DS3 (with both sticks) and you can actually output to a TV. Converting this basically into a home console (SD res, though). I played through the game with the DS3.

GUYwhoPLAYSvideoGAME5446d ago

who the heck disagree'd, why is that not awesome or "boss"
grr, I hate random disagrees that were probably caused by a finger slip or something

d0r1en05446d ago

I'd rather get an iPad. Who really has time to play hand held games these days?

Dart895446d ago

Ummm i believe me and all the other thousands of people waiting for this to come out.

Raf1k15446d ago

Doesn't make sense to ask about who has time to play hand held games these days. Considering many people lead busier lives with more travelling involved why not ask who has time to play home console or PC games these days?

The fact that we do more travelling now means we actually have time to play hand held games while we're on the bus or train.

death2smoochie5446d ago

Your right. Mobile gaming is on the rise. Faster than console gaming when they pulled the stats.
Mobile gaming for Tablets and Cell Phones for example is exploding. Regardless if its dedicated handhelds gaming units or Cell Phones, mobile gaming is on the rise and consumers are buying them

remanutd555446d ago

let me see : 8:30 - 9:00 NYC train going to my work , 5:00 - 5: 30 NYC train going to soccer practice , 8:00 - 8: 45 NYC train going back home playing NGP !!!! yeap i do have time for some Uncharted on the go !!!

Falaut5446d ago

I see what you're saying. But I have my eyes set on iPad 7 because of the side facing camera...mmmmm...can't wait for Holiday 2011.

--------5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

It's 0.15% thinner and comes with some folding case shit. Only 699.99!

OT: NGP/Vita/PSP2 is going to be boss.

Games on the iPad... Lol.

I'll take analog sticks and buttons, twice the processing power, half the price, and a fitting in a small pocket in my pack, thanks.

Office, email, a decent browser, 720p vids, decent ebook. Then it will be day 1, dump the 5" android.

death2smoochie5446d ago (Edited 5446d ago )

Hold on to that Android phone or wait for the Galaxy 3 to come out later this year with the Kal-El chipset that will have all of that AND hi resolution gaming ;-)
Mobile gaming is going to a new level now and in the very near future.
NGP and Super Phones are exciting.
Love the BC for the NGP. Awesome.

Falaut5446d ago

I can't agree more on the Office, eMail, and browser bit. I feel it needs organization apps just as must as entertainment ones.

jack_burt0n5446d ago

@smoochie

No i use a tablet for quick internet, word, mp3's ebook and MKV's little else.

Bit like a big ipod touch but still portable, trying to use phones less tbh.

Looks like PlayStation took a hit with Marathon and is now quietly adjusting prices worldwide to recover the losses

andy853d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele2d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk2d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

Eonjay2d ago

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

Athlon1013d ago (Edited 3d ago )

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit2d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg2d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon1012d ago (Edited 2d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz1493d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

I dont think that'll ever happen. But i must say back in the day, they were definitely trying because they were more cash rich than their competitors.

CosmicTurtle15d ago

I think MS were and still are the richer company. They tried to acquire Sega back in the day (and considered doing so again more recently), they obviously bought exclusivity to Halo which was originally shown as a Mac title. I don’t think as a company MS can claim the moral high ground here. It’s a wilful lack of self awareness.

Of course Sony would try exactly the same if they had the resources, but when the PS2 dominated the industry was in a much healthier place with an abundance of great third parties.

This has been a depressing generation as far as first party decisions are concerned. The fact we are debating business plans rather than which game is better is a sad reflection of the state of things.

Darkseeker16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

There was Nintendo as well, Sony wouldn't have had a monopoly. In fact, the world would be better today if Xbox never existed in the first place. They pretty much brought all bad practices we have today. We might have gotten all of it either way, but not this early. In term of franchises, I don't think there is anything Microsoft released that would actually be missed if it didn't exist. Even Halo the world wouldn't notice if Halo didn't exist.

S2Killinit15d ago

MS was definitely a bad influence on gaming.

raWfodog16d ago

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe that the best way to drive consumers to your software and hardware is to invest smart in your first-party studios. Give them full support and guidance in making unique, fun games that are only available to play in your ecosystem and the gamers will come.

Reaper22_16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

But first party studios aren't enough. They only make up a small portion of the industry. Without 3rd party there would be no industry for Microsoft or sony.Developing games take time and money and sometimes you gotta make moves to stay competitive.

raWfodog16d ago

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

SimpleDad16d ago

They Shure did a great job... 25 years later Xbox is dead.

Reaper22_16d ago

Then why be so emotional and continue to talk about it. Xbox will never die be ause it stays in so many people's head.

lodossrage16d ago

How can you even see him being "emotional" in that comment?

If anything, you're the emotional one, constantly trying to go at anyone that says anything against Microsoft. So when you call him emotional, it comes off as deflection

Elda15d ago

I own an XBSX & I can say it's becoming irrelevant out of the 3 current consoles.
