Grr.. it's getting hard to wait for this game xD
Pretty jealous of our European counter part for getting it localized a lot earlier than US

edit:
the b/g music for WKC1 trailers was alot better.
WKC2 trailers seem to have any random songs thrown in there.

JAMurida5479d ago

Yeah it's pretty dumb. If it's made in Japan, then US gets shafted on it. Kinda wish the "mass" would start buying JRPGS to show Japan that we do care, but I'm sure that will never happen... I already have my character GR 15 and everything ready to transfer over. Won't lie though, this will be the first game in 2011 that I can actually pre-order fully without second guessing my decision.

Off topic: That's a nice avatar pic of Link. Good find.

WildArmed5479d ago

Yeah, WKC really got shafted in terms of sales in the US :(
I'm right with ya there, pre-ordering this baby and picking it up day one.

lol, sad thing is we lose all the + on our equipment when we import :(

But atleast we get to keep your GR :D
Thou I gotta say I had a blast getting to GR 15.

FamilyGuy5479d ago

You loose the + on your weapons and armor regardless. Enhancing them in part 2 is different so all equipment is reset and they have different stats as well. The elemental types and effects have changed too.

Bad reviews caused this game to sale bad in the U.S. and that's the cause of our current problem now (why U.S. is getting it so late), no one wanted to publish it here -_-

The reviews were caused by a lack of playing online on the part of reviewers but it's not like they have +200 hours to really get into it and see what we (who continued playing) got to see.

Part 2 is DEFINITELY going to sell more copies than part 1. The Japanese reviews for part 2 were 1-2 points higher than the first game so hopefully the review here will be decent as well. That should cause more sells as well as the fact that some will be buying it because both games are in one here.

Too bad there's no sequel after this game for those sells to matter though...

TheHater5479d ago

Import this game? I really really really want to.

WildArmed5479d ago

Do not.
You won't be able to redeem your online code on your account nor import you character from WKC1!
It'd be a waste of 800 hours lol

FamilyGai filled me on the details for it. So highly do not recommend importing :(

TheHater5479d ago

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Why do I have to wait until August for this game now :(

Valvatorez5479d ago

Hey guy's,Doesn't this game come with the first game too and how long does it take to finish. When I finish Infamous 2 a few times,I'm gonna need a good long game to play until Disgaea 4 is released.

WildArmed5479d ago (Edited 5479d ago )

Yes, WKC2 comes w/ WKC1 re-vamped.

The game together supposedly takes 30 hours (as seen in the trailer)
But the best part of WKC is the online content ^_^

@below LOOOl
I know exactly what the hell you are talking about!
Much appreciated ;)

Valvatorez5479d ago

30 hours is good,I like to play all my games a few times.I wasn't able to see the trailer,I'm on my lame phone that likes to not work when I need it.Anyway thanks Skv007,I'll make sure you don't become a Prinny in hell! I like to say that to my friends, they don't have a clue what I'm on about!

Redempteur5479d ago

it can more than 30 hours if you seek all the secret chest containing armor and such ...

user13375479d ago

Hmmm first game will take about 30ish hours to finish the single player....buuuuut thats not where the fun is. Its online! Online will take you about....800 hours to max out your character for just part 1!

Eagerly waiting for part 2 :).

Oh and this version includes the online components of part 1 and 2, so you can play everything ^^. If you like online questing with friends...and leveling up your characters, collecting items, buying (or making) new gear.....expect to spend over 1000 hours or more.

JAMurida5479d ago (Edited 5479d ago )

Really is a dam shame that Level-5 never gets the attention they deserve. Every game they have ever made has been a good game, which honesty can't be said about A L O T of game devs out there. But then again, you could say that it's a good thing because if Level-5 had that attention then Level-5 would be transformed like Bioware is being done now with making their games "appeal to more people".

After seeing all the improvements and new things to the game, I must say that White Knight Chronicles 2 is what I would call a "sequel". Take everything that was good from the first and build off of that with new features that go well with it seamlessly. Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2 and SOCOM 1 to SOCOM 2 are good examples of what I'm trying to say to compare this game.

WildArmed5479d ago

Level 5 has had some really great work:
Dragon Quest 8 (one of my all time fav. JRPG)
Dark Cloud
Dark Cloud 2
just to name a few!

A shame really, how small number of people appreciate their work here.

forevercloud30005479d ago

You guys are forgetting Jeanne D'Arc on PSP. Brilliant game. I also hear Professor Layton is the BeezNeez. They are definitely under appreciated as great game developers. There game's might have flaws here and there but they are highly enjoyable. I had more fun with WKC than I did with FFXIII :P

Can't wait for this, Dogma Wars, and fingers crossed for a Ni No Kuni US release announcement. :D

KasiH5479d ago

why r they localizing the EU ver first ??
and where is the release date for the NA ver ?

Redempteur5479d ago

NA is near end of july / start of august ...

This is turning out to be Sony's very own E3 show for the holidays!

Merry Christmas!

@pedrof93

Most likely, yes. WKC was a PS3 exclusive.

pedrof934210d ago

Is white knight 2 a ps4 exclusive then ?

breakpad4210d ago

i hope for a localized Yokai Watch for Vita it seems very interesting and 3 milion Japan consumers are not idiots that bought the game instantly

WildArmed4210d ago

@pedro

WKC2 came out on PS3 as well.

The servers for both games are down now unf. I really wish we see a HD collection of the game. It was one of my most memorable gaming experience from last gen.

I had about 1000 hours into WKC, and 600 hours when they took the servers down in WKC2.

Findingcrybabies4210d ago

I had these games in a backlog for a while, I was very sad to learn that one of the biggest draws to me (MP/online component) had been cancelled.

Fun games, but you need to be careful of how long they expect to support their titles, it seems....not...long.

Minimox164210d ago

Yeah, Im lucky cuz got the platinum of both WKC before that (too many hours lol )

@jspsc123
Im with you bro ! MAG!

nX4210d ago

^MAG was next-gen stuff man, really miss that game.

3-4-54210d ago

More Level-5 games = good

joab7774209d ago

I would take a White Knight Collection for the PS4 and a new game from Level 5 in the chute. As long as they keep servers up for awhile. I think they prematurely shut down servers for WKC on PS3. I know everyone is gonna be crying "Dark Cloud", but I'd prefer a new IP... WKC was originally supposed to be a trilogy, so there is no telling.

WildArmed4210d ago

I understand why they shut off WKC, but I was still playing WKC2 weekly when they shut of fWKC2.

I'm hoping we do see a PS4 HD collection.

elazz4210d ago

These games didn't get high ratings but for some reason I always found the series intriguing? And both games sold well. Maybe they'll make a new game in the series with an updated part 1 and 2

spence524904210d ago

I still have my copy of WKC2. One of the most frustrating games I have ever played. Great though.

gangsta_red4210d ago

White Knight Chronicles was not the best game and got ripped apart by the critics.

Level-5 should make a sequel to the excellent Rogue Galaxy game for PS2. I loved that game!

kratos1234210d ago

Wow people disagreed with that statement.
Man I miss rogue galaxy :-(. It was such a amazing games, all those fantastic characters. I loved all my time with it.

Xof4209d ago

It didn't help that it was one of the first high-prifile bullshot games last gen.

And what was weird about it was not only were those pre-release visuals much better than the final game, so was the UI and combat. And then there was all the DLC-whoring--like charging players to edit their avatars.

The ten finest RPGs you can get on your PlayStation 3

Digitally Downloaded writes: "There's only a few RPGs left to release on the PS3 now. The majority of development for those scale projects is moving to the PS4... but it is worth noting that quality over quantity and those RPGs left to release on the PS3 include Dark Souls II and Drakengard III.

With that said, I thought we could look back at the PS3 RPGs - both western and Japanese, and which I personally felt were the finest the console could offer. I'm very keen to hear what your thoughts are and which RPGs are your favourite on the console, so be sure to sound out in the comments below!"

Valkyria Chronicles
Resonance of Fate
Kingdom Hearts 1.5. HD Remix

Hicken4490d ago

I really hate when people put Skyrim on such lists. It might have improved, but what shipped on disc- which is what gamers bought- was crap Bethesda knew they could get away with releasing.

Skyrim gets no vote from me.

Then the author says people who like Valkyria Chronicles didn't play many JRPGs on PS3. Which is an observation I don't believe for a second.

StockpileTom4490d ago (Edited 4490d ago )

I see Valkyria Chronicles as more strategy than RPG but it really does blur the lines. I think it is in a class of its own and I find it to be a true masterpiece which is a term I don't throw around lightly. (I don't even consider any game in the SOCOM series I love so much to be a masterpiece. The same goes for the Souls games which I believe fall just short.)

I really would love the series to continue onto next gen and perhaps add even more RPG elements into it. I don't have much faith in that happening though since SEGA always sends their games out to die with little to no advertising... then they turn around and kill off good series because of poor sales.

[I'm sorry about all the edits- it is hard to compose my words being this tired.]

joab7774490d ago

Valkeria is my favorite...No No Kuni is a close 2nd. After that it gets muddled. Dragon Age is good. Skyrim is a good open world game but I dont love the world leveling w/ you.

Oh...and Kingdoms of Amalur is very good too.

Missing Tales Of Games...

RondoMachete4490d ago

Fallout 3 should be on there,it's the game that got me into RPG's. Still play it and always will,Awesome.

TheSaint4490d ago

Me too, bought it on release and still play it.

McScroggz4490d ago

There are a nice mix of RPG's to chose from on the PS3. Hopefully, Persona 5 will end up being a game that exceeds expectations and is the best of the bunch.

Persona 4 Golden (Vita) is simply amazing.

AsunaYuukiTheFlash4490d ago

Enchanted Arms was my first RPG on the PS3.
