Sony hackers plotting attack on PSN or getting played by Sock Puppet Software

In an earlier article it was discovered that 2 other hacker groups were aiming at Sony for bragging rights. Obviously not far from your memory are the names Lulzsec and Idahca. After close observation of the twitter feed for Lulzsec there have been a few interesting points of interest that needs to be disclosed. Including Sock Puppet Software and the high risk of another PSN attack.

They just need to stop with this. It is getting completely out of hand.

doctorstrange5443d ago

Just wanna point out they have nothing to do with PSN/gaming.

Lulzec: You Sony morons realize we've never attacked any of your precious gaming, right? Do you know Sony does this thing called "music" too? http://twitter.com/#!/LulzS...

Useless, annoying people, but shouldnt be reported on here.

MagicGamer5443d ago (Edited 5443d ago )

You are believing one tweet that was posted in anger at another person by them??!!! get real, you sound like their attorney. Because they say they didn't do anything, then that means they won't and haven't, right?

MysticStrummer5443d ago

I don't care which part of which company they're hacking. They're jerks who could use their talents for something cool that would make them some money, but instead they'd rather screw with someone else's work. You're right that it shouldn't be on here though.

Bereaver5443d ago

Doctor, I would like to point out MagicGamer's point again. Let's say there's an unknown individual going around killing women, but then tomorrow there's a guy that gets caught killing a man. The man says "I didn't kill the women, I promise." And you would be the judge to say... "Ohhh! He's right! He said he didn't so it must be true!"

Please, don't believe criminals.

doctorstrange5443d ago

Fair enough.

But you can agree that "Sony hackers plotting attack on PSN" is a step too far right?

That's like a newspaper hearing about an individual that goes around killing women and running the headline: "Killer to Target Men"

xabmol5443d ago

I bet if hackers took the mega corp Walmart out of business for a couple of days; folks would be screaming and yelling about not being able to buy useless plastic crap and $10 jeans. Even though it was hacked because of all the fucked up things Walmart does. (low wages, all part time with no benefits, child labor from 3rd world countries) But no one cares as long as they get their plastic crap.

Sony, much like Wally World, is just a fake legal person with no conscious and an insatiable lust for money.

LMAO! I can't believe I just read someone try to give an analogy, and compare hacking PSN, with mass murder. :D LMAO... only this site and it's Sony fanboys. :D

X-DominusRebellis-X5443d ago

Lol "Interesting points of interest"...

DragonKnight5442d ago

It's interesting to note that gamers, probably including multi-console owners and 360 only owners who know what the consequences will be, ask and/or demand them to stop and for doing so are instantly labelled as Sony fanboys.

Maybe it's people who work hard for their money and want to enjoy an type of entertainment they paid good money for and don't want some losers with too much time ruining it for them.

These hackers need a harsh reality check.

Orionsangel5442d ago Show
AngryTypingGuy5442d ago

"Sony fanboy logic: All hacking is bad, unless you do it to Microsoft, then you're our heroes forever" -- Well, he's got a point there.

But really though, this crap has to stop. It's getting annoying. I hope every last one of them is arrested. I thought it was way more cool when they were hacking into the networks of middle eastern nations.

Majors5442d ago

Thing is with hackers they always go for the weakest link, which usually affects games. They need to take a step back and think about who they are interfering with and its not just the mega corps its us the consumers. I personally chose the ps3 because I like sony products always have and probably always will. If you have a problem with Sony dont buy their products and stay away.. But dont fuck up the people who did buy them..

Let them get rid of PSN.

What will we be left with?

A slew of creative, single-player experiences hand crafted to rival the legendary games of the PS2-era.

This could actually be good for gaming if you take it in that light, though I honestly wouldn't risk it.

popup5443d ago

I really hope Bulzsac refrains from tea-bagging Sony.

lil Titan5443d ago

why cant they just leave Sony alone i mean they did do something illegal and they expect not to be prosecuted? i partly blame MS, instead if suing the people who hack they offered them a job? are they serious?

skrug5443d ago (Edited 5443d ago )

more hackers should hack MS if their goal is to a job, lol

jke825443d ago

LEAVE SONY ALONE !!!!!?!?!?!!!
*insert tears and crying here*

Ala LEAVE BRITTNEY ALONE
id post the youtube link but work locks me out...fuckers

Ult iMate5443d ago (Edited 5443d ago )

Where can I sign the "Get your ****ing dirty hands off the PSN, you mother-hackers!" petition? I pay my money for games and because of group of some anonymous morons, I can't play with my friends and buy downloadable content.
99.9% of normal PS3 gamers are suffering from 0.1% dicks, that imagine themselves as some digital messiahs (but in fact are duchebags with no life).

Bebedora5443d ago

@Kon - Ok, you're the boss. lol

Dee_915442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

haha
they think sony isnt doing anything because they have been quiet about the situation

little do they know sony is watching all of this waiting for another hack

ThanatosDMC5442d ago

Two bullets outta fix the problem.

BlackTar1875442d ago

Midnightr... and you are what again?

Orionsangel5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Hacking in itself is often a selfish act. They're either doing it to prove they can do or because they didn't get their way or both. No matter what it always hurts the consumer.

I hope this is a ploy by the authorities to get Lulzsec and anyone connected to them.

SuperStrokey11235443d ago

What good would it be if they made it so PSN was down forever? They would literally be depriving millions of people of their gaming pleasure. Im sure they dont want that do they?

Silly gameAr5443d ago (Edited 5443d ago )

Read the tweets in the article. Those guys don't care. From their tone, it seems they think anyone with a PS3 is a Sony fanboy. They sound like a bunch of fanboys to me.
I hope Someone sacks their a**es good.

rob60215443d ago

I'm sure several of them have probably been reading N4G. To at least acknowledge the presence of a 'sony fanboy.' We only inhabit this area remember.

iamnsuperman5443d ago

who comes up with these hacker group names....

OT: So they attack PBS and now targeting the PS3. There is like no connection between the two. Its like there just randomly targeting what ever company they can get into just to get publicity. Like the annoying child who always wants mummy's attention.

zackacloud5443d ago

U too old my friend.

Now because of over freedom even children become more childish.

Now they want the whole mall attention if they in some of these malls.

BlackTar1875442d ago

Man the future for Computer security is gonna drastically change for the worse in the next 5-10yrs. Thye have hearing about it i just got of a webex about it. The future that these hackers are making for themselves is gonna consume them. There gonna be to blame but you can guarantee they will be playing the victim roll then as well.

MagicGamer5443d ago

It affects me and my gaming on the PS3 when these idiots are collaborating to assault the network I am on. This should by all means be here for other gamers to notice and become informed of. On the lighter side I hope to god it's the authorities and their Sock Puppet software lurking up on them.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida says Jim Ryan fired him because he didn't listen to him

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.

Relientk775d ago

Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.

Cacabunga5d ago

It should be free highway for him now.. but Sony are too stupid to see this, especially that moron Hulst

S2Killinit5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

Wtf why all that anger. PlayStation is dominating on every level. Besides I think there is a little more to hiring a CEO than just who is available. Its not like its a athlete your team wants to buy.

neutralgamer19925d ago

S2Killinit

live service failures, chasing trends, closing studios. yes dominating

Cacabunga4d ago

Sony is Dominating because competition is not existing. Compared to previous gens this is the poorest in terms of software offerings.

Last gen we got Uncharted 4 Lost Legacy and TLOU2 from ND alone.

This is so far a remasters gen, with no competition to lift up the quality

1nsomniac4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

..."PlayStation is dominating on every level"....

...Really???

PlayStation are soon heading into a new generation in the not to distant future. They currently have the worst customer satisfaction they've ever sustained as a company. The company is heading for a huge crash while at the same time they'll need to be planning how they are going to try and win back that favour and the build up to their new releases.

Yes financially they're winning but they're going to have to ride out this complete public corporate disaster. No one has faith in the company or the product anymore. They've damaged their public image so much this generation. Greed can kill anyone.

medman4d ago

Hulst is a disaster......

blacktiger4d ago

He would've done the same thing and fire Jim Ryan and Shuhei would be the villain. Why?
Because Elite creates the narrative and distraction for gamers, users and citizens.

Outside_ofthe_Box5d ago

More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.

robtion4d ago

Yep. Yoshida was responsible for bringing one of the best games of this generation to playstation (Stellar Blade). He is an actual gamer and is in touch with what gamers want (creative, fun games, not GaaS and agenda pushing). He also seems like a genuinely nice guy if you watch some interviews. Of course they got rid of him.

darthv725d ago

Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.

Agent755d ago

Microflop. After Windows XP and Xbox 360, it all went floppy.

S2Killinit5d ago

Floppy 😆
No pun intended

badz1495d ago

Yoshida for President! Jim Ryan was and always be a hack! Sony should get Shu back

Lightning775d ago

All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev: Big Studios Are 'Forced' to Hire Like Factories

Former Naughty Dog artist Gabriel Betancourt explains why the "sweet spot" for game teams is under 200 people and how AAA "factories" kill creativity.

phongtro123_com5d ago

There’s definitely some truth to this. When teams get too large, coordination starts to outweigh creativity—layers of approval, risk aversion, and tight deadlines can turn bold ideas into “safe” ones. Keeping a team under ~200 people sounds ideal for maintaining clear communication and a shared vision. That said, massive AAA projects also come with huge technical demands and expectations, so scaling up isn’t always avoidable. The real challenge is figuring out how to keep that small-team creativity alive inside big studio structures.

DarXyde5d ago

More than that, it's logistically untenable. Inevitably, when teams get too large, how do you keep tabs on accountability? I suspect this massive team size is a consequence of the perfectionism streak Naughty Dog has.

I wish we could have so many people working on something and it turns out great because I'm all for collaboration in spirit - the problem is too many people as part of the larger team and smaller units. Suppose for example that you have too many people in the art department; you will very often come up against fiercely competing visions for how things should look. That competitive vision will cause friction between team members, team doesn't work as a unit, the back and forth can further delay parts that the other departments are waiting for, etc etc.

A 200-person team says, to me, that we need to scale back game development. Even if it means we go back to PS2 era costs and scale, why not? Those games are still great fun, the budgets were in check, and you could literally break the 200-man team into like 10 20-man teams working on different projects.
