Dedicated staff working to make sure CoD: Elite is exploit-free

Amid the ongoing Sony hack furore, Activision has pledged to ensure that Call of Duty: Elite, the new multiplayer-focused service set to launch alongside Modern Warfare 3 this November, will help rid the game of cheaters.

just_looken5516d ago

"will help rid the game of cheaters" well if they dont change alot then the 360 version will be hacked asap.

MintBerryCrunch5516d ago

yea...it will help cheaters improve their boosting skills...that would be hilarious...if Elite actually gave them tips on what weapon is best and ways to improve on the previous boosting event

Agent-865516d ago (Edited 5516d ago )

Where was this dedicated staff for the last couple COD games? Now we're supposed to believe this new game will be exploit-free? Probably won't be a game beta either which makes me very cautious about this next installment.

just_looken5516d ago

yes there was staff last games stopping cheaters but remember the crazy ps3 hacks and now the 360 version has account scams.

Pixel_Enemy5516d ago

Why is it that they are actually acting like developers all of the sudden? They are adding new features to their new game, monitoring for hackers, some one should tell them that other developers have been doing this for some time now and they aren't charging extra for it.

gamingdroid5516d ago (Edited 5516d ago )

Most of others game "sort" of have it depending on the platform as well. MS has their own enforcement team, but that doesn't stop it from happening. I don't even know what is going on at the Sony camp....

So I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks to have the little time I get to enjoy some games cheater free. I would rather have this than some stupid @ss online pass that is being done by some companies, cough cough EA.

This will be interesting to see what they are trying to justify for the whatever cost. Still, the original game features are still as it always has, FREE!

Pixel_Enemy5516d ago (Edited 5516d ago )

what ever you do with your money is up to you. I would rather buy new content than pay extra to play the game it was meant to be played in the first place.

gamingdroid5516d ago

Good for you, but more content doesn't equal quality time for me.

For instance, I have no issue paying $10-15 for a few maps that I use more than a $15 bargain bin game, which eventually most games do hit.

It's just not about quantity, but enjoyment regardless of how anyone would define "quality".

Ray1865516d ago

So if I don't subscribe I have to play with cheaters? I think I'll pass on this one also.

meetajhu5516d ago (Edited 5516d ago )

Why can't they make price free?

theonlylolking5516d ago

F.R.E.E that spells free. Free Call of duty Elite is what I want baby.

--------5516d ago (Edited 5516d ago )

It's easy money for Activision.

AllroundGamer5516d ago

for that kind of money they should make it bug free too...

Jack-H5516d ago

Now THAT would almost justify a subscription lol... But not quite from me.

Rolling the Dice: Do Modern RPGs Miss the Point of Team-Based Play?

It seems it was long time ago. A bunch of friends spending hours on end playing RPG games, sitting around the table with the box of cold pizza. Excited about the story, listening to the Game Master, they were completely engaged in the worlds only visible to them and their imaginations.

The GM is the programmer, and in MMOs and co-ops, you can play with others. If you want to ONLY use your imagination for the visuals, read a book.

1) Hope they put it on disc this time.
2) Hope this is a positive for Neptune coming over as well.

Demons Souls5874d ago

If so, that's being developed & published by Idea Factory. Compile Heart has nothing to do with it (Thank God for that).

Godmars2905874d ago (Edited 5874d ago )

Thought Compile Heart was one of the companies lending characters.

Was also speaking in general as in regards to a US of Neptune. If these guys are offing a second game, NIS or Atlus, both of whom offer quirkier titles, will put that one out.

@kagon01:
My issue isn't - wholly - with the DL-only option, but the price. The first game should be $30. Maybe $40, and by that I mean $39.99. The only reason its $45 is the 360 disc version which has extras. Nevermind that by all rights its a PS2 game. Something that proabbly could have been done if the devs had the GOW2 engine or tools.

ClownBelt5874d ago

I approve of this god damn message.

Could have gotten my 60 bucks if they just put it on a disc.

Jack-Pyro5874d ago

Is this a half decent SRPG, porn aside, cause if it is, i might just decide to go and buy it for the 360.

Anon73495873d ago

There's no porn just some sexual innuendos but that's it.

Also it is a great game by itself, maybe not graphically but everything else is top tier.

RedDevils5873d ago

so it had some kind of "top tier" porn story jk

ThanatosDMC5873d ago

Yup, it's a decent game. I just hate that a move has to go first before any attack options.
