Um, no sorry. You just need to L2P. The combat is incredibly solid, and any 'glitches' (ie. taking damage while dodging) are actually part of the challenge.

The developer was influenced by Demon Souls, so if you think W2 is buggy definitely don't try Demon Souls.

Sadly, they are. There is noticeably lag when casting Yrden or Quen, sometimes you need to press the Q button 3-4 times for it to work with the above signs, Geralt needs to finish the animation 'he is doing' to cast them, sometimes block doesn't work (even though you have Vigor), sometimes Geralt doesn't change his weapons even though you press the 1-2 keys, the targeting system is a mess right now and you can't dash unless an 'animation stops' (I was trapped at a campfire and Geralt couldn't move, run or dash. It was like watching a fire-pinball till Geralt actually died).

It is bugged and no, the game isn't that hard as most make it sound

DaCajun5496d ago

Wow sounds like you need to upgrade because I don't have any of those problems.

@John2
DaCajun is correct, you may have a performance (frame rate) issue. I live by casting Quen and have not received any performance issues.

Adexus5496d ago

I actually agree with you, although bare in mind I'm using a 360 controller to play so I don't know if that makes any kind of difference.

I usually have to press left or right on the d-pad at least twice for him to get his sword out, blocking isn't responsive enough, when I press block I want him to block immediately, not wait 2 seconds and one time he didn't even put his sword up for some reason.

It would be so much more fluid if you could cast spells whilst moving, having to retreat for a moment from a battle only to stop to cast a spell while enemies are chasing after you, kind of defeats the purpose of it.

And moving Geralt with a 360 controller looks like he's a jittery robot when turning, but I'm still really enjoying the game and I could never get into the first one.

Those bugs have nothing to do with the performance. On top of that, I don't have any performance issues as the game runs fine at 1080p with 40-100fps ;).

the only bug i can complain of, is when theres an enemy on your radar at the other side of the map and he is just doing his daily evilness and minding his own business. it brings out geralts sword and wont let me open any nearby doors till i have interupted the poor guys fun.

apart from that defo a 9.5/10

Don't count on it so much. The patch was supposed to be released on Sunday, then " The servers are up but we predict another downtime today. It shouldn't take more than AN HOUR and we will inform about it."

I don't understand the definition of "an hour" in Poland, perhaps it means 3 days or more.

Even the diehard fans are mad and couldn't progress or even play the game and its DLCs due to the astronomical amount of bugs and stuttering performance.

DaCajun5496d ago (Edited 5496d ago )

Since when is May 23rd Sunday it was Monday and when they said in about an hour that was in the afternoon. Plus they never once said they were releasing the patch that day. Their previous article said sometime this week. and the post you speak of says and I quote:

"We are currently updating the servers and preparing for the incoming patch release. We will be posting updates on this issue.

UPDATE: The servers are up but we predict another downtime today. It shouldn't take more than an hour and we will inform about it."

Now tell me where in that statement does it say they are releasing the patch that day or give an exact time for a patch release. It just says they are updating and preparing the servers for the patch release. I swear you people need to go back to school and retake reading comprehension because you fail at it.

I have no problems with bugs or crashing, but performance is issue. Game automaticly detects graphics settings on high but that runs very poor. I need to use medium settings to make it run properly.
I hope it will run well on high settings after this patch... My 5770 should handle it no problem...

midgard2275496d ago

you can probably still play it on high, my game detects low settings but i play it fine on medium, you just have to turn off ssao, that thing EATS up frames like a beast. couldnt run medium before turning that off. you might wanna try the same

What about the 16:9 screen ratio lock? It's a little annoying as some of us have other ratios.

lunaticpanda1015496d ago

I can't progress past the prologue due to it crashing and taking me to the desktop when I ask "What happened to the dragon". I have been waiting for this patch for a very long time!

The actor who portrayed Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher series of games has died

Alexander Morton, the Scottish actor probably best known for starring in British comedy drama Monarch of the Glen - but known to me for being the hilariously foul-mouthed dwarf Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 - has died aged 81.
