I can pick out a lot that put me off of the title. Even though I beat it, the story, gameplay, and elements of exploration left a lot to be desired. I did not go for a replay.
If I had to boil it down, the biggest immersion-breaker was how NPCs contributed nothing outside of quests. It sounds small, but when the one or two major settlements on the island offer nothing new after HOURS of narrative development, it feels false.
Even in NES RPGs the developers at least updated the dialog after a major event.
I'll play Risen 2, but I hope they stepped their game up.
pirate themed is the only reason ill check this one out. i didnt care for the first one.
