VGW: What a difference a week makes. Arguing the case for Brink on its release day of May 10th would have required mind-altering sorcery and the silver tongue of a salesman capable of selling you the air you breathe. Fast forward seven days later, and the critical patch issued by developer Splash Damage has fixed the game-breaking online lag, and we’re ready to pass final judgment on this ambitious class-based shooter.

AAA games get all the attention. But some games get lost in the shuffle. Especially shooters! Make time for these five.
I didnt care for brink. I thought it was going to be like overwatch back in the day.

It’s time to Switch to Brink before taking 12 Orbits around Letters from Whitechapel? That sort of works.

Six years later, and the game is available to anyone who wants it on PC.
Great job on clarifying what was fixed post-launch. It's too bad that the game doesn't offer enough out-of-the-box.
This game actually seemed promising. Too bad it ended up being really average. LA Noire and Infamous 2 are getting my money in May/June. Already picked up LA Noire. Also maybe even Duke Nukem if its any good...or if it ever releases on time lol.
I think they just misled everyone a little with the SP supposedly melting into the MP when all the SP campaign is is a glorified practise for the free online play where other players can just join in-its not what we were promised really, is it? They made a lot of bold claims but in truth there's no proper story just a handful of story missions you can play from either badly explain points of view.
The MP itself is a bit better but the much vaunted parkour system is either too simple or there just isn't much use or point toi it in levels that make scant use of the option for verticality and free movement. We were also expecting a bit more variety than we got in terms the online too-when it is, in fact all the same stuff punctuated by your side objectives and it doesn't react as well to custom games as existing shooters with a team theme like TF2. I just think when you factor in the less than stunning graphics(another thing we were expecting more from)the whole package seems rushed out despite all the delays. I'd much rather they took longer and kept their word better.
