I think PS3 wins this one hands down.

- Better lighting (more realistic/gritty)
- More background rendering (compared to xbox its ridiculously better.)
- Xbox has quite a bit more jagged edges, PS3 is much smoother
- And its been said, but ONE DISC.

Things are starting to tip towards Sony as far as multiplats go. Bout damn time.

I guess all those comparison shots that were going around earlier this week are fake then because it looks like the ps3 is the clear winner here. Not that the game looks bad on the xbox, good job Team Bondi.

PS3 version looks significantly better.Take notes Rockstar, Team Bondi just spit on all your bad PS3 ports.

All I can say is I'm happy I got this for the PS3.

The facial animations in this game are mind blowing.

I would have got this for ps3 if it didnt break ,so the old reliable 360 version it is.

The game is really fun but the control sucks.

This YouTube.com video is a better view in motion of the photos taken for the 360 version. In my opinion it is not much to get bent out of shape over. Look between 3:15-4:00. Follow the lighting/reflections on the poltrol car front to back. It does show some shading and light reflection effects differences. As a 360 owner I say this as I shrug my shoulders, "Oh, well. Not a big deal." :)

I already have LA Noire pre-ordered on the PS3 (prefer the dual shock 3, 1 disc, and extra content. can't judge performance on both consoles, because i've yet to play either).

I prefer to play the games for myself instead of relying on comparisons.

From the looks of this comparison, there are differences, but nothing deal breaking. Just like with most comparisons. I remember the meltdowns for Read Dead Redemption because the PS3 version looked different. I have the PS3 version, and it didn't look anything like the screenshots in various comparisons when running on my TV.

I actually think these comparison sites should list ALL of their details, like what type of TV they are using. I have a 40" Samsung 720p/1080i set, and a 24" Dynex 1080p set. Ironically enough, the Samsung looks better at 720p than my Dynex looks at 1080p (although the Dynex does look really good).

I'm just curious, since 99.9% of the time, the game running on my Sammy doesn't look anything like the videos/screens most of these comparisons suggest. Then again, I actually tinker with the settings of my TV and consoles so the picture looks pleasing to me.

These comparisons are tough if you ask me since you always question how they capture, etc... Certain things look better on one versus the other. I will say atleast in the comparisons on Lens of Truth it appeared small details were left of the 360 version versus the PS3, like trim on the car fender or a few small buildings in the horizon. One thing for sure... it looks good to me on both consoles...and I am very much looking forward to playing it.

I have PS3, and actually dont care how game looks on X360 as long as it looks good on PS3. If its good, Ill play it, if not I wont. This comparisions should only matter to both console owners. Simple.

PS3 needed a little something better since Red Dead on the 360 was much more polished. LA Noire for the 360 being a basically a port is pretty damn good not like the night a day differences that Red Dead Redemption had. I think Red Dead is a better game myself.

Are you people finally going to understand how crippled ported versions can be, compared to base version. The reason why there are no shadows could be either technical or bad port, in this case it is VERY good, except those missing shadows... I am glad this game looks so good on PS3, because i just love the idea of the game and how it is executed and i don't own a Xbox console. Those comparisons are just to take a look at base vs ported, does developers have invested enough power to make it look and perform as good as base version, not of telling which console is better, that is just ridiculous, how people compare consoles by looking at games comparisons, it is all about optimizing, some time ago many developers thought that they have done their game to the MAX and it can't be any better, look at games now, they are just BEAUTIFUL!

the PS3 is the clear winner in this graphics comparison - they look identical in every way apart from the SSAO and some lighting. the SSAO alone makes it look noticeably better. the interesting thing is that its usually the 360 versions of games that have the better SSAO - lots of PS3 versions are even missing it all together.

what strikes me as interesting is that the cutscenes are literally 1:1 across the consoles. this either shows that they are stored as FMV, which explains why the game is on more than 1 DVD (since an hour of 720p FMV can be upwards of 6gb), or that Team Bondi just didnt put in the effort on optimising the 360 version during gameplay. i mean, SSAO isnt exactly a killer on the hardware, so its omission on the 360 during gameplay is very suspect.

if i buy this ill get it on PS3, but as great as i think the game looks and as interesting a concept as it is, i dont think its for me.

Looks like they purposely dumbed down the PS3 version so the 360 version wouldn't be as embarrassing even though it still is.

Just got home with my copy. Will be firing up the PS3 shortly. There were several shots, mostly the daylight shots, that looked identical to me. The night shots with the shadows look the most different.

I own ps3 and 360 and I'm leaning towards PS3 cause of the discs. Anyone compare the loading times from dvd to blue ray ? Also If i install on my 360 do I have to swap discs ?

I don't know how anyone can look at this comparison and come to the conclusion that the 360 version is better.

For reference I only have a 360. If I had a PS3 I'd get it on the PS3 but I don't so it doesn't matter to me too much.

There is almost no difference unless you are looking for it. Its not like the difference between the Xbox and the PS2.

Both systems are great and minor differences wont affect sales.

Picked up the game on 360, I don't have ps3. Regardless of that, I doubt most people even notice these differences when playing the game, I don't understand the point of these articles, seem like total flaimbait in my opinion. Game is awesome so far by the way.

Yes, yes, we all know the PS3 version in far superior to the 360 version....the only way the 360 version can compare to the PS3 version is if you turn off all the PS3's settings, plug it into standard def television using rca cables & switching the tv over to black & white....The PS3 version is simply just better......and that is also factoring in Team Bondi's purposeful dumbing down in order for 360 to actually be able to run it.....not to mention they didn't want to push any harder than they did, as instead of a 3 disk 360 version, it could quite easily have jumped to 5-6 disks.

PS3 owners will get a much bigger jump up in visual & overall production quality with The Agent.

At present, it is highly obvious that games are built to run as optimal as possible on both machines, as the install base is too low to justify the extra expense of squeezing the extra power from the PS3. Now if the install base was more akin to how PS2 or PS1 was, as opposed to there competition, then we would see more developers get more out of the PS3, & due to the major market share PS3 had, developers would attempt to port to 360, or just abandon that version alltogether...In any case we would see some pretty poor ports on 360.

Now as a 360, Wii & PS3 owner, I am happy with it the way it is going.....Both 360 & PS3 are great machines, & both still manage to surprise me with great visuals, sound & production.....so as much as I'd like to see more developers abandon "the lowest common denominator" rule of thumb being used at present, & get more games that take advantage of some of the PS3's advantages & breaking more tasks up on it's spu's to allow other areas in the cpu, gpu, or wherever else, to allow better graphics, physics, sound, special effects, weather effects, water effects & the such.
But if the machines stay close in terms of all this......as long as we all get great games regardless of which console we own, or prefer, & as long as we aren't subjected to another bunch of scumbag hackers ruining our online gaming experiences, as well as costing developers, publishers & console manufacturers that we all rely on & love, there hard earned money.

This is what happens when Xbox gets PS3 exclusives, they look like complete garbage on their system, when you compare the screenshots to the ps3.

Personally if I had a 360 only this would bother me immensely. I play games like LA Noir to become immersed in the characters and the world and if what LoT says is true( which I doubt it is) then I would be pissed. Minor things like that detract from the atmosphere.
