
IGN - Saying Catherine is a different kind of game doesn't really do it justice. In reality, Catherine is so different that it's unlike virtually any game on the market. It's this very fact -- that Catherine isn't derivative of anything that came before it -- that makes it such an alluring product. While parts of Catherine can fit into one genre or another (for instance, it's a puzzle game at times and a dating simulator at others), it's the fact that Catherine's overall direction is so nebulous that has put it on so many gamers' radars. And rightfully so.
Plenty of unforgettable games have completely messed up their players throughout the years, all the way back from the PS1 days to the dark recesses of the modern internet.

Deadly Premonition is a pretty weird game, but all of these absolute oddities are even weirder.
