I've tried to charge people for that for years :(

I like the premise behind charging people that make a room full of good players vanish into thin air.

Wow...He said this like last year...Is he just repeating himself or is this article just reporting last years news?

Tomorrow is just your future yesterday.

Isn't this sort of like car insurance? Problem is though at some point someone's gonna get screwed over. Who decides what's a 'cool' way to play? And what happens if you get labelled a prick by accident? I rarely play mp and when I do I'm silent and conserved, does that mean I should pay more than someone who's more 'fun'? Why?

Because they're more social? Because they have the time to make fucking hats for a game? I paid my god damned cash I should be allowed to just play.

I get that you're encouraging people to be nice but part of gamings fun is being a prick. Mp gaming had already evolved to keep the dicks out of more serious games. It's what servers and admins are for. The pc gaming community has been living with trolls since the days of doom and we've got plenty of systems in place to deal with them.

Mayble valve should stop thinking about god damned fucking hats all the time and look into half life 3 instead.

Doesn't matter how you play. It's your manners that's the key word here. If you are a douche on VoIP, it will cost you $100 to use it. If you are helpfull, you'll get it for free.

The best solution would be Blizzards Real ID where you are shown, yes - you. not your "avatar". It is however also the most risky one, as there are nutjobs in this world, but hey - don't be a dick and you're fine.

But how in hell would they work that out?

Valve are so obsessed with fixing what isn't broken they've broken what was pretty much fixed. I remember tf2 the day it launched. One hell of a well oiled machine. Now I can't cough without a hat being thrown at me. I didn't even mind all the class updates but valve have literally developed the stupidest obsession with hats. They were even in portal 2!

And funnily enough realID probably would be the best solution. Or maybe just engineer gameplay so that you get practically no reward for playing selfishly. I know Brink has taken a kicking recently but it actually manages to completely negate the issue of griefers and douchebags with some clever gameplay techniques.

Valve responds to NY Attorney General lawsuit

Valve has responded to New York Attorney General Letitia James' lawsuit against the firm, stating it does not believe that lootboxes in its Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Team Fortress 2 games unlawfully encourage minors to gamble, adding it was "disappointed" to see the action go ahead despite efforts to "educate" the NYAG about virtual items since "early 2023."
