i wonder if it really works that well, but pretty sweet set up if your into pc fps, and want to play one one on the ps3 like a pc version

Finally something to replace my garbage Sixaxis with, i'm sick of playing with a controller that is an outdated 10 year old design

its a mouse controller and a wiimote shaped wii nunchuk ... huh go figure... i wonder if it will be useful in games... or the PS controller will be better

I am a PC gamer and always wanted mouse on FPS on consoles. Mouse and Keyboard provide the most accurate presiion in FPS.

I got a PS3 and always was ****** off with Resistance due to using anagloue for aiming. I saw this splitfish FragFX mouse and pad thing.

I got this in package after 1 week. Due to my distance their service of devily was good.

I opened the product. Build quality is crap. Plasitc uses feel like gonna break in your hand. Buttons stick and mae noise. If you shake it for sixaxises it feels like buttons are going to fall away.

Now I connected to PS3 and put on Resistance, being my only FPS title. Decection of hardware was no problem. Problem came during game play. Buttons need to be pressed too hard. They are not so sensitive like the PS3 Offical pad. Also due to build quality for buttons to get the press signal you need to nearly press them thru the thin plastic.

Now for mouse. It does not feels comfortable as a PC mouse. Start button is too near the 3 buttons of a mouse, thus I kept hitting start by accident when i tried to aim. This is also due to the fact the middle button needs to be pressed near the start button, if you press more downwards it takes no signal.

Aiming. While better then Analogue stick, is it no near a PC mouse. Its too jerky when you move. I tried setting in game sensitivity with the sensistivity from contorller. 3 Days of trying and its no better. The pad provided is too small. Response feels slow near PC. The sensitivity button is prone to be hit and gets you messed up during gameplay. The Digital pad is not configured correctly. Sometimes pressing LEFT gets signel as UP. The L2 button is utter crap in build quality. It feels like pressing a plasitic and its breaking in your hand. FRAG button is suppose to be sensitive to presure. Due to the fact of having to press hard its barely sensitive.

I rate splifish FragFX 2/10.

Buy ONLY if you are desprate and need a little better control then analogue stick.

This prephiral (not made by Sony, so dont accuse them of copying the Wiimote) got rated 9.1 on IGN, stating that it was the best alternate prephiral for the PS3 and a big step forward for console-FPS players.

I heard the key to this controller is all about the configuration. You have to tweak it a lot to get it to your liking.

I use it for Warhawk and think it works greatly. In Resistance, the Y Axis is actually slower than the X Axis, which is something the game does not allow you to adjust, so it does stutter a little bit. If you adjust it correctly it works alright, but I found it far more useful in Warhawk. Definitely a learning curve even for PC gamers though, since it's not as sensitive as a PC mouse, but nonetheless useful. In Warhawk best settings are 90% in game and 4 on the mouse.

As for sensitivity, after installing the firmware and making the buttons more sensitive, I've had no problems.

I really would prefer USB/Bluetooth real keys and mouse like Epic are allowing in UT3. I think if UT3 is a huge success for EPIC, other software houses will follow and implement code or pates to allow mouse and keys as an option. Any PC player will tell you, after using mouse and keys, controller is just retarded.

Now that Jim Ryan is gone just need to remove Herman Hulst from his position! And maybe give Shuhei the position he deserved.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
