Ten years ago, tough times had hit Nintendo with shrinking sales and profits, increasing demand for new products and growing pressure from competitors. What hope was there for a comeback from a tradition-bound company that had seemingly lost its way?
For Nintendo, the dire situation facing it in 2001 was just another hiccup in its long rise to the top of the video games world. As the same conditions reappear in 2011, confidence remains high in yet another revolutionary turnaround from the venerable 121-year-old Kyoto institution.

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Nintendo completed its share repurchase and set its secondary offering price at 8,347 yen ahead of March 16 delivery.

Nintendo filed a lawsuit in the United States Court of International Trade.
Nintendo of America is suing the United States government over the sweeping tariffs President Donald Trump put in place last year, according to a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade and obtained by Aftermath.
LOL I read this on gaff, will they refund the money back to the gamers? highly unlikely. Didn't they just raise prices and pass it onto the gamers? Only Nintendo would send out the Ninjas to the US government.
The Gamecube was great I still have it, I enjoyed Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda Wind Waker, Pokemon Coliseum, WWE DOR 1 and 2, Mario Kart: Double Dash (The DS one is my favourite one).
I think the support for it by other developers made people buy the PS2 and XBOX due to games like GTA and other adult games on those consoles (Well Killer7 was on the GC). Capcom and Sega did their part for third party support. I remember Capcom 5.
I have always loved Nintendo, and personally im glad to see them back as a success.
As a true fan, i supported them back in the dark days of the end of the N64s life, and through the Gamecube days, but with the Wii shooting them to the top again, it makes me happy.
Long may it continue.
Did that guy just call Nintendo wiiners?
Once thats accomplished, there's no telling how successful Nintendo's next console will be(Project Cafe).
