really?
they are really looking at gamerscores to
hire people to work for them

RedDead5492d ago (Edited 5492d ago )

That's all you need these days >_<

Honestly that's quite sad. Below, I don't even know why people care about either of them, I used to try and then I realized ...what was the point? I don't pursue them anyway. Be good if a reward system was brought in. Xbox 720 and Ps4 rewards please/ Then fu** me I would do them all.

TOO PAWNED5492d ago

lol no one gives a damn about trophies other then us PS fans.

bumnut5492d ago

It would be great if you got all the acheivments for a game you got a free movie rental or arcade game.

MmaFan-Qc5491d ago

"I wouldn't hire anyone with less than 20,000 gamerscore"

i guess thats why Shift 2 sucked, when a light and small lotus behave like a heavy and giant impalla 77....you know they obviously doesnt know their shit.

AngryTypingGuy5491d ago

20,000? Sweet! I make the cut with almost 3,000 points to spare! Now I have to work on my trophies.

Legion5491d ago

Obviously not the ONLY criteria... but no different then the director reference. I am not going to hire a director to direct my movie if they don't watch movies.

Experience in your job means a lot. Some people can bring different things to the table in a job... but you definetly want to find the people that are involved in the actual mechanics of the job itself.

A few things I would reference in similar points:

Don't hire an Athiest as a preacher.

Don't hire a peta activist to work at a slaughter house.

Don't have a vegetarian to cook at your next barbeque.

Don't have a monk give you marital advice.

They could all possibly do the task but they wouldn't be the best choice because they would all lack that something that is needed.

Chewy1025491d ago

Asking people outside of the norm is a great idea most of the time. It gives you a different point of view that you would have most likely have never seen.

Legion5491d ago

@Chewy102

Never too late for a comment.

I think the primary thought was you don't go to these areas for expertise in a field. Asking anyone on the street for help will get you plenty of outside the norm advice too... but I wouldn't recommend it as a pratice.

But to hire someone outside of the norm that doesn't have the experience you need to develope is throwing money away.

Solidus187-SCMilk5491d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

My gamer score is almost a 20,000, not quite yet I dont think.

I wonder if they would be willing to add my trophies(level 6) with my GS(18,000?). Then im totally over 20K. Ohh and I got some steam achievements too. Add them up I got way more then 20K.

lol

edit-- but I have requirements too. I only want to work for devs that make games that I want to play, unfortunately slightly mad studios is not one of the many.

shikamaroooo5492d ago

They need to hire people that actually know cars so many errors like Honda 2000 listed as a v4 when its a v6 or how they named the gtr specV when its Vspec

bumnut5492d ago

A Honda S2000 is not a v6

green5492d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

lol, Honda S2000 is not a V6 or V4 but a naturally aspirated inline 4.

And this is the same person that will be telling me how arcady Forza is when they no absolutely nothing about cars.

shikamaroooo5492d ago (Edited 5492d ago )

forza is over exaggerated period how can you put a k20 into a eg and keep the standard transmission same applies for RB26's going into silvas

green5491d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

Have you played Forza at all? First of all, the K20 engine i will assume is the K20 from the Honda K-series. If thats it, then there is no reason why a standard transmission can not fit because it is just a 2000cc engine that outputs between 215bhp and 270bhp in standard tune.

As for the RB26, yes it does fit into Silvias and there are dozens of youtube videos to prove it. As for the gearbox, if you have full sim mode active, the standard gearbox will break after a couple of laps.

Maybe that,s how you play the game,Tune cars to the max, retain casual difficulty settings and then b*tch when there are no consequences.

shikamaroooo5491d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

its impossible fitting a k20a into a d series transmission also they let you put b18c into stock eg's

Scotracer5491d ago

When you change the engine, you also take the gearbox with that engine. Upgrading the gearbox just changes the performance of it (i.e. fitting straight-cut gears or fitting a sequential 'box).

Oh and you have no right to criticise when you think an S2000 is a V6.

green5491d ago

@ Scotracer: You are 100% correct.

When you swap engines, you also get the gearbox associated with that engine by default. Only upgrading engines will you be able to retain your standard gearbox and if you don't beef up the gearbox, they will get damaged with time.

shikamaroooo just continues to prove that he is just an ignorant fanboy.

shikamaroooo5491d ago

yeah but in forza 3 when u change to a k20 it keeps the eg transmission (5speed) where as a k20 is 6

Capdastaro5492d ago (Edited 5492d ago )

It doesnt have a v6 it has a N/A I4...

... Beaten to it

shikamaroooo5492d ago

my bad iv always thought the F20c was a V6 someone mentioned it to me but after looking it up it is a V4

Scotracer5491d ago

IT'S NOT A V4. It's an inline 4.

eferreira5491d ago

I have a s2000. fastest 4 cylinder out

Scotracer5491d ago

Project CARS 3 could have been called Project CARS Sideways

Slightly Mad Studios founder and former CEO Ian Bell has disclosed that the maligned Project CARS 3 could have had a different name, which could have more clearly signposted the game’s intent.

TallDarknWavy698d ago

This game was criminally reviewed by every loser on the Internet who was bitter and angry that this wasn't a complete simulation nor a complete arcade racing game, it was so well designed and the driving model was so much fun, much like drive club but slightly more sim if you wanted to adjust The settings and also slightly more arcade if you want to adjust those settings. One of the most fun games I've played in years. "Reviewers" just couldn't get this game a fair shake and had to badmouth it unfairly because they're too bitter and angry from still not getting laid.

Original Project CARS creator trying to re-hire EA team

Ian Bell, the founder of Slightly Mad Studios, is aiming to hire former Project CARS employees to work on his upcoming GTR Revival project.

Sgt_Slaughter1291d ago

If it's just going to be another sim-cade that doesn't do either one correctly then no thanks.

Project CARS 2 was a step in the right direction but the physics still aren't where they should have been, so what did they do for PC3? Go completely arcade. That killed the franchise.

EA dropping Project CARS

From GI.biz: "EA is dropping Project CARS, GamesIndustry.biz can reveal.

The Slightly Mad Studios-developed series was launched in 2015, with EA confirming today that it has made the decision to "stop further development and investment" in the franchise.

The announcement was made internally and it's unclear at this stage to which extent staff could be affected. EA said that employees working on Project CARS will be moved into "suitable" roles "wherever [they] can.""

Terry_B1293d ago

Typical for EA. They buy studios that created nice games..and are sooner or later destroying them and move the people to work on the old same 5+ EA series.

italiangamer1293d ago

They will put the developers on the 1000th Need for Speed for the rest of their entire careers, just like Criterion.

SurgicalMenace1293d ago

To be fair, it's not EAs fault it falls directly on the consumer. Everytime these companies choose to drop a series they're met with backlash though the gamers didn't support said series enough to justify its continuation. Attempting to paint every company as evil all because they're in it to succeed is ridiculous. They have to make money just like each of us typing in this section. If a job wasn't supporting you well you'd quit and find a new one, this is the same mentality concerning series.

TheColbertinator1293d ago

@SurgicalMenace

No it is their fault. They don't listen to fans and burn the franchise to the ground by introducing elements that nobody wanted instead of increasing support for said respected franchises.

I order a steak, they make a steak. 1st sale
I order a steak again, they vomit on my steak and charge me more for it. No sale.

EA in a nutshell.

Tapani1292d ago

@TheColbinator Well how do you think they make the billions then?

Their fans ARE buying their games. You are just not their focus group, and I can guarantee their customer insights team is more thorough and detailed in their reaearch than any N4G commentors’ opinion on the matter. Otherwise EA would not exist as a company, and they’d be bankrupt.

deleted1293d ago

The one that still hurts the most though was Criterion w the Burnout series. Acquired Criterion's tech for their own existing IP, then shut em down. It's basically parasitic. I sure do miss Burnout's crash mode!

Hofstaderman1293d ago

Sounds eerily similar to another large unnamed corporation hey. I believe some EA bigwigs shifted to that company back in the day, would explain the similarities.

rlow11292d ago

Must be talking about Sony

peppeaccardo1293d ago

and instead they come out with that piece of shit of Need for Speed which looks like an Anna & Barbera cartoon. C'mon .... PC2 was my go to game for VR racing and the first one i played for tens of hours. i was so lookiing forward to PC4 after that failure of PC3 ... what a shame EA, they are bombing all the good games and stick to the garbage ones. EA when you think you have reached maximum of disappointment they top it off with style .... screw them!

SurgicalMenace1293d ago

Need for Speed continues to sell so why would they get rid of what's producing what they need to maintain stability?

EazyC1293d ago

What they did to this series was idiotic. The premise was great -- a sim/simcade game that GENUINELY got developed in line with its community. There is a huge gap in the market for this...I mean, PD hasn't listened to fans at all over the last year with regard to simple Gran Turismo 7 tweaks. Sim racing fans are screaming for a title where they actually give a shit about their users.

Project Cars 2 was genuinely on to something, it just needed some refinement. But instead they followed up by selling off to EA with a braindead GRID clone with Project Cars 3. Again...idiotic.

SurgicalMenace1293d ago

Well since you're the authority on properly managing a million dollar company, why don't you just call them to let them know of your divine wisdom?

Hardcore sim racers are the ones who are competing acrossed the globe, no company in their right mind would focus on a forever moving casual market. They have to focus on those dedicated to supporting their efforts. Notice how you're speaking from a perspective of self opposed to the collective. Perhaps they sold out because they, like us, needed the money knowing that they could reinvest it into something new. PC was a decent racer but very few people mainlined it over GT or Forza.

EazyC1293d ago

I'm not a divine authority but I notice a pattern where these huge corporations turn completely tone deaf of what the "average fan" wants.

vallencer1293d ago

Hate to break it to you but project cars 3 was published by Bandai in 2020. EA didn't buy codemasters, which owned slightly mad studios, until 2021. Either way the sales were super poor for the game and it's not surprising EA would just drop the game. BUT it still sucks because it's one less sim racing game on the market. Especially because the first 2 were really good.

Tzuno1293d ago

and focuses more on cartoon network games
