I guess that means no GTA5 reveal then? Guess we'll have to wait and see, but this def. makes it seem unlikely now.

jriquelme_paraguay5484d ago (Edited 5484d ago )

they can reveal GTA5 where they want :)
It is Rockstar!

gaffyh5484d ago (Edited 5484d ago )

I'm pretty sure EatSleepPlay said the same thing last year.

xztence5484d ago

What? You've got to be kidding me.
That means no news on Agent again???
wow...

jriquelme_paraguay5484d ago

Agent must be part of Sony conference

Nitrowolf25484d ago

prob. be a part of Sony, which gets me thinking that they could still reveal GTA5 at Sony,MS, or even Nintendo conference like Beast_Master said.

jriquelme_paraguay5484d ago

and what if GTA5 is PC and PS3 exclusive?

hmmm... naaa.. impossible

CYBERSNAKE5484d ago

Has Agent been confirmed to be shown at this years E3? If not then there's no point getting your hopes up. Rockstar always takes their time and they will only show when it's ready.

sack_boi5484d ago

Damn you Rockstar. This means no GTA 5 and no Agent either at E3.

Beast_Master5484d ago (Edited 5484d ago )

It only means that any game annoucements will be part of Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo's press event. They will not have their own booth. Activision and Capcom did the same thing years ago, but still allowed MS to show COD and RE5 as part of their press event.

kookie5484d ago

Capcom had a booth at E3 last year

Proof?

hold up hold up dont freak out they might pull a david jaffe on us

SephireX5484d ago (Edited 5484d ago )

Yeah they could do what David Jaffe did. Seeing as they weren't at E3 last year, it would be suspicious if they showed up this year with all the GTA V rumours flowing around. Seeing as Agent is PS3 exclusive, I'm expecting GTA V to be announced at M$'s 360 conference but not by Rockstar themselves. Though knowing Rockstar, they could reveal it a day before E3 begins.

mugoldeneagle035484d ago

Remember how Jaffe said his then unannounced game wasn't going to be at E3 last year?

We all know how that turned out...I fully expect Rockstar to be there. No matter which game it'll be (GTA/Agent/etc.)

Joni-Ice5484d ago

I don't believe it until E3 has come and gone. I think RockStar has something under wraps.

what about agent ? it isnt going to be there anything from it since its been so long since anything with that game has been seen

MultiConsoleGamer5484d ago

Rockstar always acts like they're "too good" for E3.

bluedot1335484d ago

They don't attend by choice. Not sure why exactly. TakeTwo is there.

BeaArthur5484d ago

Yeah if memory serves they never go to E3.

Dsnyder5484d ago

E3 has never really been thier thing. The only appearance i know of is when that one guy showed to to annouce "exclusive" DLC with a "tatoo" on his arm. They use thier secrecy to hype thier games and it works well. When we the the next GTA countdown trailer then we will see the hype shoot through the rof. In other words, they can create thier own hype and dont need E3.

Apocwhen5484d ago

They really don't need to. Their games speak for themselves.

jizzyjones5484d ago

All im interested in is Agent, as its been 2 years since it was announced and absolutely nothing since.

MGRogue20175484d ago

That's 'cause Rockstar Games are way too special/unique to be at e3

Rockstar launches official marketplace for mods

Rockstar has launched an official marketplace for "every server and every player" to buy mods: Cfx Marketplace.

I wonder how much of this isn't just taken work of others who have modded for free.

Edit: Also, great way for R* to take popular ideas and build them into GTAVI based on demand.

fr0sty120d ago

What I see happening here is, R* is going to ban mods in GTA6 UNLESS you buy them from the marketplace and R* then gets a cut of that sale.

ActualWhiteMan120d ago

Ah, perfect timing with them taking down the Bully online fan mod. Greedy a$$ company.

Christopher120d ago

It's okay as long as they get a cut of the money.

fr0sty120d ago

Expect R* to force it on you.

Snookies12120d ago

Yep, right there with you. I'll happily donate to a mod creator if it looks really cool, or if I enjoy it. But expecting payment up front? Nope, not touching it.

IanTH120d ago (Edited 120d ago )

I'm not entirely sure how to read this, as it doesn't seem exactly like an exact parallel to Bethesda's paid mods shenanigans.

Rather than single player stuff, this appears to be aimed solely on Cfx Servers. From what I've gleaned, apparently Rockstar bought the Cfx mod team several years ago, coming a few years after weird contentions led them to ban a few of their members. Ultimately, the question is if they plan to keep this contained to only online/servers.

I have to guess to a degree yes. It'd be pretty hard to "force" paid mods for single player when modding files locally on your own machine, but much easier for servers they'll control. So perhaps this is their soft launch ahead of GTA6 online and they'll clamp down more tightly on non-official servers going forward? Ever since they've become a 1 or 2 property studio, I haven't really cared much for Rockstar stuff, so I'm not entirely up on everything surrounding this. Sounds like it has the potential to be problematic further down the line, but right now fairly easy to ignore...I think lol.

They were involved in protected Union activities and Rockstar will be in trouble with the NLRB.

DarXyde172d ago

You think this NLRB will lift a finger?

Ps5conehead171d ago

Watch the video this is in England

gerbintosh172d ago

Basically this is Rockstar vs the Union members word. These employees could be cherry picking or spoofing the chat logs.Rockstar could be lying. I will withhold judgment until Discord is subpoened and releases the chat group text from their servers.

Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser explains why open world spy game Agent never worked out

A rare interview from the former GTA and Red Dead Redemption writer and executive producer.

dveio195d ago

Interesting to know.

Among MGS4, Agent was the reason I wanted and bought a PS3. (Who knew we would get other gems like Killzone 2 and TLoU.)

I always assumed it got cancelled due to hardware restrictions even at that time.

Deeeeznuuuts195d ago

Such a shame, I remember first reading about it in official playstation magazine, Agent and The Getaway are the two cancelled games I wish I could play 😩

Christopher194d ago

Because it had to be open world, of course. Couldn't change that and make the Agent game work otherwise. Totally buying it.

Redgrave194d ago

I used to laugh whenever I'd see someone cite Agent as a game to look forward to, because it was never officially canceled (at least, as far as I've seen.)

"It's still real to me, dammit!"
