From a pure hardware standpoint, Dallas Morning News thinks the PS3 is now a better deal than the Xbox 360 Premium.
The larger hard drive, the built-in wireless adapter and the Blu-ray movie player are simply a phenomenal deal for a mere 50 bucks extra.
While Sony made a marketing mistake by hyping backwards compatibility when the PS3 first launched, only to kill the feature with the new unit, they suspect most gamers who buy a new console aren't actually using it to play old PS2 games. So they doubt the feature will be missed much.
But if you're deliberating whether to get a 360 or a PS3, the decision isn't that clear cut.

Stupid headline. Should state that they are being updated or discontinued. This makes the crazy people that only read headlines think it some kind of conspiracy to take away peoples already purchased games.
If you want to all of a sudden own them now and haven't played them yet because a remastered is coming out, shame on you. I can't believe people are complaining about this 15 years later when it was bound to happen anyway. "A new remaster is out, quick, I'd better buy the original from the shop."

I think you just read the headline and don't know how dilisting works with Sony. It's common knowledge that:
"Players who already bought the games will still have them in their library and can download and play them as usual."
So again, what is your point?

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.
I feel the same way.
I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?
Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.
Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

I'm not sure spending the heavy investment in time to recreate the multiplayer here is the answer either though.
Remaking the campaigns is a great idea to bring the new players up to speed. But if the multiplayer is included in each it'll just fracture the player base of each release.
I think it might be better to turn these campaigns out quicker and have 1 multiplayer game to keep everyone in one place
Maybe having an Halo Online and just release the Combat Evolve maps. And when Halo 2 releases have those maps release. I don’t know but I would like to play a newer version of Halo multiplayer. I know times have changed, and Fortnite is all younger kids really play. But back then it was Halo and you connecting 6 Xbox’s together lol.
I agree. I think that'll segment the playerbase and once 7 comes out, players might realize it sucks and go back to the older games. Especially if 7 is live-servixe, they'll be shooting themselves in the foot on the one good leg they have to stand on.

Wouldn't have that problem if it were MCC being released. Gotta wait for 7 to be disappointed with MP all over again cause if they half baked Infinite what makes people think they won't half bake the next game? MP works in past HALO games not cause of nostalgia but because it's MP that isn't concerned with the endless service approach.
There is so much cognitive dissonance over Infinite. People say they didn't like it because it was a live service. Yet if you look at what the criticisms of it were at the time it came out and when the playerbase started falling off, the primary issue people had was a lack of updates. In other words, it wasn't enough of a live service.
Which is really an encapsulation of the problem with multiplayer today. So many people think that they want to go back to the "good old days" of mid-2000s multiplayer (The first few Halos, Socom, the first few Battlefields, CS 1.6, etc), but in reality if a multiplayer game like that came out today, people would whine about the lack of content within a month of launch and go back to a live service with a grindy progression system.

I thought the same thing, then I realized that they wouldn't include the remakes in that edition. We may get a different version of Halo MCC in the future with all of the remakes included. I just want them to include Halo 5 at some point for PC.
I wonder if Microsoft will port Reach over to Playstation I quite enjoyed that game. I played Halo 3 and it was not bad I have Halo 2 on the OG Xbox I just need some cables to hook up to my tv to play it.

yea yea yea i only own a PS3 at this point in time. I do give the edge to the 360 as far as the games they have the last 3-4months this year. I think the PS3 has had more exclusives the last 4 months of 07 but i do think the 360 has some really good ones and maybe even slighty better. Warhawk with more maps cant be topped.
Bio Shock Mass Effect GPR4 Forza2 and Halo are some really good games. Im lookin 4ward to a Elite price drop and ofcourse the RROD fix that they have started to implament. When i do get my Elite in 4-5 months i will have atleast 3great games im going to buy with it, ME GOW Bio Shock. I think by the time im ready to spend 400+ bucks on the 360 it will have all the goodies (faloconzepher) and be under 400bucks!
Once again Sony proves they are good for gamers. They made MS make those 360 fixs and even made em add HDMI. If your a 360fanboy you cant argue that Sony has made your 360 a better machine just by its release!

All the features they say are a reason to buy a PS3 aren't even related to gaming.
Bluray functionality = Hi-def movies = Not gaming
WiFi = A way to allow internet access = Not gaming
Hard Drive = Storage = Not gaming
But the article goes on to say if you want game of the year contenders like Bioshock and Mass Effect...Then get a 360 = Gaming..

#2 Your memory is selective i see. Go look at news post about your 360 when it launched! MS themselfs told you all they where losing 100-150 bucks a system. Sony said the same thing on launch. And the cold hard fact is Mr CLoud360 MS gaming division has lost 3.9BILLION since its luanch two years ago. Thats a FACT. Now go do some math and see what that is per system sold.
