I'm glad I'm a gamefly member because I dont think theres a lot of games out there worth $60.

Still buying Brink(360), the PC version is the best.

I've never heard about Peter Eykemans before so I don't know if I should trust his review. The video review just made me want it even more. :)

Look like another game failed to beat Call of Duty you mean. This is horrible I was thinking of getting this game, but Duke Nukem Forever and Infamous 2 was on my mind lol. What happen man 6.0? WTF!!!! Will the character movements looks odd when they turn around an run. Looks like they didn't put parkour to good use. They didn't add a kick button. Maybe gametrailers will have a more in depth review.

I still trust IGN, so I'm definitely not buying this game unless I hear amazing things about this game from friends.

Damn and i called it too, from the previews and videos i knew this game will be pretty mixed.

This game looked mediocre since the first day I saw it.

usually I dont listen to ign but they said exactly what i predicted. The same repetitive objective named something different "hack this" "detonate this" "plant this". in the same locations every single time. Gets boring too quickly, just like KZ3 except this game has only average graphics. NO TDM , no domination, CTF, etc. Just "defend bomb or plant bomb"

Also, cut scenes get old after the 5th time, just like KZ3.

This game never really interest me personally but i expected higher. Yeah this is IGN but i really thought IGN would give it a better score. When i thought of Brink i always thought of Team Fortress 2 but little lower on the scale.

I might get it sometime when its on sale probably steam.

ign sucks , even if this game is that bad i won't trust them because they don't even know how to play ... when i play i play by my own way , i make the game exciting , brink have a fast gameplay that's why i like it because i can do alots of stuff , but i don't like the size of the players , they are really small but that doesn't change that the gameplay is amazing...

Well if you can sign in and play then it's better then Crysis 2... alot of people can not even play Crysis 2 on line and I'm one of them. So in one hour I will go pickup my pre order and if there are no problems then it's a 6/10 for sure... lol. Have fun players... CC :-)

I'm no fan of IGN reviews but judging from the journalist community (if you can call them that) the game is mediocre.

Looks like Crysis 2 got a stay of execution, I was about to trade it in due to the persistent issues.

I have a hard time believing that Homefront could be better than this game. Sure I haven't played it, but I have played homefront and it was hot garbage. This is just a gut feeling of mine.

I'm pretty disappointed... I feel I'm one of the few people that was excited for this game. My intuition that it would be good was flat out wrong. IGN has been pretty hit or miss lately but I think they got it right this time.

This is getting to be a trend -- if a shooter game doesn't define generic, or isn't a game-movie (CoD), then it gets called generic, and gets a low score.

Brink's score (and SOCOM 4, and many other recent shooters) is basically a result of the proliferation of shooters these days. I'd like to see a reviewer design a game that would qualify as "original" enough to get a good score by their own system -- it can't be done. Gaming (review) is no longer about originality -- its about presentation.

If its not a game-movie, it gets a 7.5 or less on the big sites, because the big site reviewers are so jaded, that they aren't interested in anything but game-movies any longer.

hmmm this game blows seriously. i should of never bought it and im still pretty pissed. i heard through the grapevine how it was supposed to be awesome and a game changing FPS. or so the gamestop guy told me. he bought it and i decided to buy it based off the fact that they had 1 ps3 copy left and were sold out of it. i was like okay must be pretty good... wrong game sucks ass and i felt like i was watching a pixar movie with guns. so i drove back up to gamestop a hour later and traded it in to pay off my LA NOIRE pre order. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE

Cancelled my Pre-order this morning. Was really looking forward to this but hearing that the campaign is exactly the same as multiplayer but with (crappy) AI and cutscenes, not to mention a mere 6 maps, graphic glitches and repetitive objectives, I can't see this being a full £40 purchase. And considering just today I got Bad Company 2 on for my Xbox 360, I don't really need this game...at least not at full retail price. Rather keep focusing my hype towards LA Noire next week.

Another mediocre multiplat. i have an eye for these things. i always said the game would fail and i was right NEXT!!!

another developer who said this will push the limits of this gens consoles and all they have done is push the limits of our patience and integrity.

This "scoring fiasco" has 2 reasons behind it.
1. It involves team work, and if you know ANYONE who reviews a game, they will tell you they hate using teamwork. To get a small group of people who know what they are doing takes time and dedication, something you dont have when reviewing a game. Needs to be in and out. I have a feeling they phoned this one in, because a high profile release is soon, Rocktard games "generic theft auto crime stories" which will get a solid 9/10 9.5/10 just wait and see. Even if the graphics look AWFUL in the commercials (late gen ps2, anyone else?)

2. Cartoony looking games ALWAYS get HAMMERED for being cartoony. People just cant help themselves. You crave real, even if its not real. For one, my favorite games of all time have been what you would consider "cartoony" i feel like the closer you try to get to real, often the faker it looks. Cartoon type graphics you get brighter colors, different things you can do anatomically, and often times using it be more creative because you arent "confined" by the base of realism.

Brink is not very good at all. I am really glad i rented it instead of buying it.

I bought it for the PC and it's really just an ok game. If you don't get it you ain't missing anything special.

It is fun, but it has some issues. I had the sound drop out in the second game, it was a bit sluggish and the play balance is off. I raked three guys with a machine gun nest over and over and all it did was wound them and they were able to advance and take me out. The customization is good but it is mostly a massive beta so far.

Wow, I actually thought this game was going to get 9s and 9.5s. But it bombed lol. I'm surprised because I can usually tell by instincts if a game will suck or not. Thats just me.

Just got this from gamefly so time to try it out

Why all the hype about this game in the first place? Graphics and gameplay don't look that hot to begin with.

I went on again an hour ago and servers were lagging out, shutting down, and locking up. I got to play in one but it was very laggy.

The master server list was showing open spots but when you tryed to connect it would say server has not loaded map or other connect issues. It took a dozen attempts to get into a server and it crashed after 30 min of laggy play.

Both Campaigns took me 5 hours in total to beat thats include all what if missions, started doing the challenges. I enjoy the game its just the issue I have no comuncation between players and it seems like so many ppl just want it to be deathmatch but i mean seriously other then that I have fun just not sure if its 60 dollars fun for most. Got a free copy from work.

Folks, you don't need "pro" reviewers to tell you if a game is good or not. ANY shooter that comes out these days is going to be, "just another FPS" among loads and loads of previously released FPS.

THE DAMN THINGS DON'T CHANGE THAT MUCH. I don't care how they try to spin it, or refresh it. Add running over things, leaping off buildings, etc.

It will still be, "just another FPS".I will be glad when devs MOVE ON.
